Anybody tried one?
I just ordered one with a telestock and flip up sights, thinking it'd make a sweet thing to keep stashed in the trunk. I figure if I break down in the middle of nowhere and need to convince lunch of its status, it'll be easier with the stock and longer bbl. This isn't a replacement for an AR, but a way of turning a pistol into a carbine for fun and possible hunting. What I want to know is if anyone here has an idea what the extra bbl length does for performance with 10mm. I imagine the double tap 1600fps rounds might go even faster and that makes me grin. Can anyone confirm? |

Er, no. Chop the bbl on one to 10" w/o a stock, get a 10" bbl on a pistol. But looks like you'll have a sweet rig - enjoy. Couldn't you just have someone make you a really long bbl if you didn't want a stock? Damn, that's got me thinking how long of a bbl you could get to go into the slide angle wise.... |

The longest I've seen for a Glock or a 1911 were 16". Many moons ago, someone produced a 16" bbl & stock kit for 1911s - I've seen one or two @ D/FW gun shows. An Austrian company produces a 16" gas assisted bbl for Glocks, but there's no US importer, and the Roni people haven't been able to come to terms w/ the Austrians. Hence, no civilian legal Roni w/ stock. On the Beretta 92, Beretta made a 7.5", which are available occasionally. The most the custom makers do for the 92 is 6". The Mech-Tech seems to be a pretty decent gadget if you want to pistol hunt w/ a Glock or 1911 - you can run up to .460" Rowland, I believe. |
