I have a G17 and a G34. both gen4.  One frame has a Vanek trigger and the other a stock trigger - also one frame has the factory beavertail notches.  Other than that, no differences.  I understand that you've got some issues to be aware of with caliber conversions but are there any safety, legal (serial number) or accuracy considerations when swapping the frames and slides in this scenario?  Do frames and slides "mate" with eachother when they wear to any noticeable extent?

I have had zero issues with G36 and G30 with alternating the slide assembly back and forth....I can't imagine you would have any issues with G17 and G34 unless maybe you had 20,000 rounds through one of them and not the other

One is brand new and the other does have 3 solid seasons of IDPA and practice through it.  Probably not 20k but at least 7-8k - definitely broken in.

I take it you use the Vaneck on the 34? That is what I do...why change it?...the 17 won't be anymore accurate...actually my 26 is more accurate than my 17 or 34 unless I use my KKM match barrel on my 34

You shouldn't have any issues mixing around the 17 and 34 provided both are out of the same generation.

My 17 frame is newer and has the beavertail backstrap notch.  Wanted to try running that on the 34 slide with the Vanek trigger.
