Is there any reason to pick the G36 over a G30?
I like the G36 best for slimmer size but hate the lower round capacity...which would you recommend ? |

If you already own a G21, then get the G30, also might want to check out a G30s.
....if you don't... the G19/23 are pretty close in size to the G36... and give you a lot more weapon IMHO! Of all the Glocks I've ever handled, the G36 doesn't do much for me... although I do like it better some of the other single stack guns out there. ~g |

Yep, it's wide and heavy... and feels that way compared to the G19/23's...
Normally take the 19/23 over the 30 for carry, that was until our laws changed.... now it's the 23/30 until I get some night sights on the 29! A co-worker of mine swears by his 36. Either way you won't be disappointed! ~g |

Got a 2nd Gen G30 with close to 5K rounds through it. Still looks good and 100% reliable. Only thing I've done is change out the guide rod / recoil spring and mag springs a couple of times. (didn't need to but when I got to the 2500rd mark, made me feel a little better).
Buddy had a G36 but had a few issues. Ended up going with a G30 3rd Gen instead. |
| I own a G36. I like it and carry it daily. My brother owns a G30. He likes it and carries it daily. The 36 is more comfortable to carry but the 30 is more comfortable to shoot and gives more rounds of capacity. If you're a really skinny guy then maybe the 36 is the right answer. If you don't have a problem concealing a wide-framed pistol get the 30. Can't go wrong either way. |

I owned the 36 for a brief period and I didn't like the way it shot compared to the 30. It was definitely good, but the 30 is just a smoother shot for me. |

I think it needs to be said that the only thing thinner on the 30s is the slide. The frame of the 30s is just as thick as any other 30. Having said that the thinner slide would have to help some. I have heard early reports of a more snappy recoil with the 30s because of the
thinner slide. It's because of less reciprocating mass in the lighter slide. I don't know if it will but it could lead to failure to feed issues with inexperienced shooters. |

Glock 36 is the smallest thinnest lightest - Glock made in 45 acp , and is the reason I carry it. 4 rounds of 45 acp are heavy at the end of the day, and slimmer is better for a gun you will carry every day ( less of a pain in the ass really ) edit : I just carry a extra mag if I feel the need . Most self defense shootings really are 3 or less rounds in as many seconds |
