| After shooting my G38 in 45 GAP I have noticed small yellow flakes on the interior of the pistol. At first thought was they were just brass shavings, they are not. I was shooting factory American Eagle. Anyone else had this or know what it might be? |

Coppery looking? That's just Glock factory anti-sieze. If it's brass, you're shaving it somewhere. Look at your ammo. Does it have yellowish lacquer around the primer or case mouth? The factory anti-sieze is long gone and its not brass shavings. Must be the ammo. href=http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r738/AKMer/IMG_20130428_145449_zpse434ad47.jpg" /> |

Just a guess but I am betting you use grease on the rails? The pics look like grease that has picked up a bit of un-burnt powder or residue. The grease is giving these flakes of un-burnt particles a yellow tint. I see it all the time on my guns. Just clean regularly to prevent a build-up that could cause malfunctions.
FWIW- If you are shooting "discount" loads like WWB they often use powders that have more filler and thus leave more residue. ETA- I would place "American Eagle" in the discount load category. Not bad stuff but not ATK/Federal's premium load. |

The shape and feel of the flakes I think you right, unburnt powder that has picked up grease and turned yellow. Thanks. |
