I purchased my new Glock 17 Gen 4 last week and it came with the usual back straps, but not the new tall beaver tail back strap that i have seen all over the internet new for 2013. When Glock came up and did some demo shoots 2 weeks ago i was able to see their 17 and they had the tall larger beaver tail back strap on. I was looking forward to shooting both with and without it to find out what works best for me. Has anyone gotten a new gen 4 with these tall beaver tail back straps? or does anyone know why i did not get them?

Also just FYI my G17 Gen 4 was a blue label sale and has case envelope dated 3/16/13 from Glock, so it is fresh from the factory.

Thanks

Try contacting Glock and they will probably send you one.

Those are aftermarket parts, not a Glock item.

Looks like it also removes a lot of the golf ball sized hump on the Glock's also.... I never understood the Glock backstrap hump...

No, there ARE factory ones floating around out there right now... There's just no way to know how/if you're going to get one.

My Gen 4 G19 FDE came with them but they do not come with all Gen 4s.  My G19 has a small notch just under the rear of the slide where the beavertails lock into place.  If yours does not have this notch then it was more than likely not meant for the OEM beavertails.

Here is a pic of mine and the beavertails in the package

Nice FDE 19. I didn't know they had them for 19 as well. Also I just looked and both my 17 and 19 has that notch at the top just under the rear of the slide. And neither the 17 or the 19 came with those beaver tail back straps. I will contact Glock and find out how to get some. Thanks

The beavertails are only coming on very recent guns (and not on all the models), although the frames have had the molded notch for awhile now.  I've read other threads where people have contacted Glock to try and get the backstraps, but even the Glock reps weren't aware they were being shipped with new pistols.  The last I heard the beavertails were not available seperately, although that will likely change before too long.

You can buy the factory Beavertail backstraps in stock here:

http://www.secamus.com/shop/Eds-Public-Safety/Glock-Beavertail-Backstrap-Kit.html

Just make sure you order the correct set for your pistol.  There is one set that fits the full size 9mm, 40, and 357 sig and a different set that fits the .45, 10mm
