Just got a conditional offer and Im pretty much in the clear for a job hopefully.  just out of curiosity, looking for suggestions/experience with sights y'all run on your duty glocks. Im more of a 1911/Sig guy, but have shot glocks often in steel challenge and 3 gun. My 1911s have novak night sights and sigs just run factory siglite night sights. we used fiber optic sights on the competition guns that dont seem like they can take a beating.  I want tritium for sure.I was looking at 10-8, let me know what else works for you. If it makes a difference issued weapon is 17/19

I've come to prefer a 10-8 rear and Warren white dot tritium front.

I have had Truglo TFO's on my duty gun for 7 years.  I also have them on three other Glocks.  I like the green front and yellow rear better.

I just tried Trijicon HD's out for the first time.  I have not shot with them much but I think I am going to like those more.

Trijicon HD sights would be my choice for a duty handgun.

I have their basic nights sights and they can take a good beating while maintaining zero imo.

I am digging the orange but yellow is nice too.

I set up my game guns just like my duty gun. Trijicon fronts and rears with the rear sight ampules blacked out.

It would be more cost effective to get a non illuminated rear sight but the department regulations didnt permit us to substitute parts on our guns.

My duty is a g17 gen 4 with stock night sights. works just fine for me. trigger control in my opinion is what to work at for surgical shots.

I think you'll find that the vast majority of issued Glocks will be using the standard, factory polymer sights, unless the Dept allows individual Officers to purchase and change out the sights. Administrators are notorious penny pinchers and aren't the ones who will use the guns. Therefore, the Dept price for 9mm/.40/.357 Glocks of $357.00 looks real attractive, especially when Glock factory night sights add, IIRC, about $70.00 to the price of the gun. I know it was an issue when my small Dept went to issued Gen4 G22 back in June. The Chief refused to spend the money for the night sights, so all the guns were ordered with the standard, factory poly sights. They work at least OK for what they are and what they are supposed to do and don't wear quite as bad as you'd think they might.

Having said that, as soon as I decide whehter I'm staying with my G26 for backup/off duty or going to a G27, I'm getting Ameriglo I-Dot Pro night sights for both my G22 and either then G26 or G27. Consistency with both guns and night/low level light capability, along with a better sight picture than the factory sights. The type really doesn't matter, pick one you like and try it out.

Another issue to consider is whether or not you will be allowed to modify an issued gun. Might be something to ask about before buying them. If you're not allowed to switch them out, there's no point in even looking. Some Depts won't allow you to do anything with an issued gun, some will allow you to swich out sights on your dime. You need to find out which yours is.

I carried both Tru-Glo TFO's on my Glocks and now on my XD-45.

Our department provides Glock (which I think are meprolight) night sights on department owned duty guns.

I have used Trijicon's and Meprolight sights. I prefer the Meprolights (Glock night sights). They have a white circle outlining the glow dots which make them easier to see IMO.

Trijicons, and the've lasted 10 years so far just fine.  Whatever you chose you want metal sights and something you can rack a slide with against a belt or such.

I am just asking for recommendations out of curiosity, not buying right now. But yes I confirmed that you can swap sights and it is encouraged.
Im not real picky about which ones, I just want metal night sights with a ledge for one hand racking of the slide like I can with my p226

thanks for all the responses, I see there is a bit of variation when it comes to preference.  XS sights arent really precise enough for me, although I have only used them once.  I will check out the different trijicon sets and the 10-8 sets

I run the Trijicon HDs on my duty Glock 22 and the Ameriglo CAPs on my backup Glock 27. I love the CAPs for close range work probably inside 25 yards which for a subcompact is about as far as I see i would need.
