Since the gen 2 doesn't have the attach point, are there any light attachment options for the gen 2 G19?

No but you could probably epoxy a small piece of rail to the part of the frame forward of the trigger guard if you really had to have one and couldnt trade up to a new Gen 4.

This^ and use a CT Lightguard since it also wraps around the trigger guard for support. You can't have too many pistols so use the G2 for CC or a spare, new 19, 17 or 34

There are a number of ways to add a light to a 2nd Gen Glock. First there is the Glock magazine basepad that holds a flashlight (although they are hard to find). Second there is the Surefire add-on rail and/or Surefire add-on light both of which attached to the dust cover and the trigger guard. These were pretty popular but expensive back in their day. Third there is the Mossy Creek Custom rail for Glock 2nd Gens. The last one does require modifying your gun to attach the rail but it is the only one of the aforementioned that is readily available. (See pic). And fourth there are several flashlights on the market that attach directly to the trigger guard of any handgun. They look like the old Beamshot lasers, but they work. Good luck.

Hand held light - I prefer syringe technique. I agree with the idea a hand held light allows you to search without muzzle sweeping someone who does 't deserve it.

I love the gen 2 compact! I am trying to go all 9mm. But my gen 2 G23 won't seem to move out of the way for my gen3 -G19.

I need to find a gen2 19.

Thanks for all the input.  Maybe I'll just use a handheld and not worry about mounting on the gen 2.  Then I'll find a light for the Gen 4 G26 I just got.

Send it to glock for a frame upgrade. Should cost about 100 with shipping. Takes between 6-8 weeks.

I assume they keep your old frame?  Do you get the same serial number?

No, I believe you get a new serial number.

I also forgot about this add on rail by Command Arms. The GLKA1.

Probably find someone that'd be willing to trade in the EE too.

I just saw today that there is a CAA mount for sale ($40 IIRC). I bought a different Gen2 light mount off the EE yesterday. So it definitely pays to check out the equipment exchange.
