I recently found out that my sure fire setup would fit on my glock rail. Do you think this is a viable option for me?

If you are right handed it might be better to have the light on the other side of the pistol.

I was fooling around with it and it works better this way since I can twist on the light.

I'd wonder how well the end of the light and the bulb itself will handle the muzzle blast?

I assume you're using the pistol/light combo for a Home Defense role?

If so, I think the way the light sticks out away from the centerline of the pistol would make it awkward to use (shut off) - activate.

There are several ways of using a light like that in the support hand - using the push button to activate the light,
There are some really credible instructors who have posted informative use of weapons with lights
on Youtube... and here LINK

No offense, but that looks ridiculous.  Put it back on your AR and get a real handgun weapon light.  Or just use the G2 as a hand held light without the mount.  I'm not sure how you're able to use the light in that position as a righty.  You're activating the light with your trigger finger?  Then you can't also fire the Glock at the same time.

It wouldn't work for me, or anybody else with an I.Q. higher than that of an unborn rhinoceros!  I just "discovered" that my old Maglight fits perfectly on MY G17.  Think this will work?

Watch for a used TLR-1 on the EE.  Well worth the $70-80.

On a more serious note, I use the TLR-1s and love it.

I picked up a slightly used TLR1s here not too long ago on the EE for $60 shipped

It has the new type C4 LED and strobe feature...
