Brand new in the box G34 went to the range yesterday.

Shooting 115 gr FMJ reloads the unit had 4-5 failure to ejects out of 10 rounds.

Switched to another magazine and the same thing was happening. So I dumped all the ammo from those mags and loaded up some factory Winchester 115gr. FMJ el cheapo 100 round value paks....the G34 ran just fine.

Question...I have the reloads pretty hot and just above what I figured for the factory loads....why the failure to eject recon?

Oh, and I am NOT limp wristing it     ....scratch that one from your list. Also, the G19 runs perfect with those reloads.

I'm new to this Practical / Tactical G34 format....so fire away with comments or suggestions!

Thanks

Gen 4 Glocks have had their fair share problems. Gen 3's not so much. Gen 3 Glock 34, Glock 35 owner here. They are both runners for me and don't miss a lick.

Glocks generally seem to be pretty finicky with reloads - in my experience

I never had any problems in my Gen4 G34 with reloads...but, I only ran it with a 14lb recoil spring.

I have only run a handful of reloads through my 34 so far, but I've yet to have any issues.  Are you sure the reloads are loaded to the proper length?  I know a guy who loaded some a little long, and they wouldn't cycle properly.  Even though the 19 will eat them, they could still be a little out of tolerance.  You might also try again after the 34 is a little more "broken in".

to get the best accuracy out of your G34 try a 147grain bullet... if you put aftermarket sights on it, you will probably need a fairly tall front sight ... I had to go to a .280" tall Dawson to get my G34 to point of aim with a Heinie Slant Pro rear... mine is a Gen 3 but I use a fairly heavy 17# spring with a full length stainless guide rod

That's great to know....thanks. I do know that I want to get some new sights and the factories are not set up the way I like to shoot. I have to cover the bull with the entire front post to get anywhere near the X.

I prefer a six o'clock hold so I can see what the heck I'm doing. I guess he sight height is trial and error?

I will run some hot 147 grainers through it and see how it runs.....might just need broke in some more. This factory double spring is soooooo stiff, I think it would hold up the hood on my Chevy.

The ammo is WAY more suspect than the pistol.

If the ammo wasn't intense enough to cycle the gun, then there's your sign.

If the powder used to make the ammo was temperature sensitive, and therefore not intense enough to cycle the gun, the there's your sign.

Simply put:  it worked with several kinds of factory ammo, but didn't work consistently with Gomer's Shade Tree reloads.  There's your sign.

The ONLY problem I have with my 34 is it shoots HIGH! Way HIGH!.
Irritates me that I spend this much for a pistol and it is 5" high at 25 yards.  My G19 dead on.
Other than that, it runs like a scalded dog.

Gotta get sights!

Have you shot the reloads through a chrono?

Most likely the RSA either needs some breaking in or it is too strong for your reloads.

G34 Gen4 here, too, with the whole range of Glock 9s in Gen3.

It just wants hotter ammo. Way more than every other model needs to run with their stock springs. I had to load hotter and clip the recoil spring, and the cases are just dribbling out now. 147 FMJ @ 920 fps.

All I've run through my Gen4 G34 are my reloads. The ejection was a little weak at first, but no problem now after a couple of thousand rounds through it.

You'll know right away if they're loaded too long. They won't fit in the magazine. BTDT

I've shot a few hundred of my 115gr reloads through my gen four 34 without issue.   I load near max with Power Pistol, tula primers, and mixed brass, FWIW.
