Ok, so i've been looking for a G19 for my wife, the only problem is what gen do i want?
I've found tons of things on both gen 3 and gen 4. I can't really tell which is better or not.

If your worried about the brass to face problem it doesnt matter which gen because it was happening with both new gen 3's and gen 4's. The gen 4's come with one more mag then the gen 3's and the grip can be made slightly smaller or larger than the gen 3 by using the removable back straps. The gen 4 also has a rougher texture on the frame. FWIW I bought a gen 4 about a month ago and have not had any BTF issues.

The gen4 I found to be more comfortable than the 3.  I haven't had any issues  with my gen 4.

I prefer the Gen II.

Check them both out at a store or a range.

I still haven't touched a Gen 4, but my Gen 3 suits me just fine.

Can't go wrong with either.  I prefer Gen4.

I prefer the texture and smaller grip on the Gen 4.

Had Gen4, sold it found a new Gen3 and picked that up, love it.

The Gen4 just felt strange in my hand, I did not really enjoy shooting it.

Gen 2 if you can find one or older Gen 3. It's a crap-shoot right now with the Gen 3s & 4s regarding brass to the face.

I like gen 3, just cause that's all I have owned. The textured grip is a little much for me on the gen 4's, but YMMV.

Youll get as many answers as posters. Try them both, their both quality pistols.

I have a newer gen 4 with a date of sept 12 on the fired cartridge. LOVE IT. Was a bit weary when i got home and saw it was one of the full USA Glocks but after about 500 rounds, it's awesome. No issues at all.
