| I have a glock 19 and 23, can i just put the 19 barrel in the 23? i did try this but the slide won't lock back. |
| You can put the 19 upper on the 23 and it will run; to put the 23 upper assembly on the 19 you'll need to change to the 23 style ejector (straight as opposed to the 19's angled one). I've never tried swapping just the barrels and I can't say as I would. You can get conversion barrels for the 23 though that will allow you to shoot 9mm or .357Sig (as well as a few others if you do some searching). |
You can put a 19 barrel in a 23. The o.d. of the barrels isn't the same, so the barrel fit will be a little sloppy, where the barrel goes through the slide, but everything else is the same. If you use a conversion barrel, you probably DON'T need to change ejectors and extractors, "at a minimum."

I assumed it was from idle curiosity.
Fragalistic, have you actually fired 9mm out of a factory 9mm barrel installed in a factory G23 slide? I was under the impression this was a no-no. Why else would there be such a big market for conversion barrels? It can't just be so that extractors and ejectors possibly don't have to be exchanged, but they still might. I would think that the sloppy barrel to slide fit could cause problems after not too many rounds as parts are banging together under recoil in a way that they normally would not. |
