So I just purchased a Glock 19 Gen 4 on Friday, but have to wait the 7 days LOL.

Never fired a Gen 4 but firgured I'd take the plunge anyway.

Turns out there are a lot of reports about the trigger being much heavier than the standard Glock 5.5lbs,
I believe the Gen 4s are around 6.5lbs.

I've had multiple people say do the "25cent polishing mod", to adding a Ghost connector, to swapping Trigger Bar for a Gen 3 Trigger Bar.
(something to do with the "bump" on the trigger bar, but still much debate about that)

I was probably planning on doing the Ghost Connector thing anyway...

So any other tips or advice?

No, I'm not spending another $100 or more on a new trigger system, or modifying or cutting the frame in any way.

Note: it's a range gun, not a carry gun, so I'm not concerned about the lighter trigger issue for carry.

That was true on the early relased Gen4s. They came with the std connector and they produce about a 6.5lb pull in the gen 4. The newer gen4s come with a new dot '.' connector from the factory that puts them back to the 5.5 range.

Oh cool, so I have to take it apart to see the marking, or can you tell by the serial number.

It's "brand new" but I have no idea how ling it's been sat in the store.
So it could still be an "old" gun.

I'll have to get back to you on that one, it's still at the store in the 7 days waiting period

the new trigger bar with the bump gave about +0.5lb to the pull.  the new 'dot' connector dropped the pull by -0.5lb to counter that

I bought my 4th gen G27 over a year ago and it had the dot connector.

You can see it if you take the slide off, you don't have to disassemble any farther than that.

The dot would be in the same place the "-" is in this picture...

Both of my Gen 4 23 and 27 had a pretty hefty trigger when I bought them last year.  They did not have the dot connector.  Finally got them from Glockmeister, found a You Tube video on installing them the easy way, and it has improved my trigger pull.  I do not have a trigger guage, but know I don't want go any lighter with a striker pistol for self defense.

Well I'll get a few hundred rounds through it first, then I'll do the Ghost Connector.

Not sure I want to mess with springs or enything else at this point, but might consider the polishing but that's it.
