Crap. What was wrong with them?

I got it on a pretty good deal.

No biggie. The famous NYPD malfunction recalled and fixed in 1990.  Slide locks back on full mag, something about barrel unlocking and a follower issue as I recall.  Google 1990 Glock recall,or there may be a stickie on here.  Glock will fix it quick and free if it hasn't been already.

Thank you. I have one of the new ones, love it so I picked this up on a whim when it was offered to me.

I have $250 in it. (and a trade)

Very early G19, and you stole it for that price in my opinion.

That is a real good price for that pistol. Good luck with it.

WOW.  That's a great price.  I'm still looking for one.  So far all I've found was in the $400 range.

I got three mags with it that have dots going up both sides, they look a lot different than the mags I have with my new G19.

Are those worth hanging on to, or should I trade them out for newer ones?

I sent an email to Glock through their customer service form on their website, to see what they have to say about it. Can you guys tell me what it is that they do when you send one of these to them? Is the fix (if it needs it) going to mess it up from a collectors standpoint? I love my new one, and my wife has one too, but I'm kind of indifferent to collecting older ones, I just don't want to ruin it as trade fodder if something else pops up.It's not going to be my go-to house gun or a carry piece, I have a bunch of other options for that, like I said; just got it on a whim when it was offered.

There was no recall relative to the NYPD fiasco.  There was only a program set up purely as a placebo for those guys in NY who didn't know how to fire a Glock.  The ONLY Glocks that suffered from the NYPD malfunction were those Glocks being used by NYPD.  Strange, isn't it??  Kind of like the LA Sheriff's Dept. G21s, in which their some of their officers were squirting oil into the slide's innards.  Then they couldn't understand why they were getting light strikes.  The placebo in that case was a new trigger bar that compensated for the incompetence of those guys' squirting oil into their Glocks' slides.

There is a 'six part upgrade' for the older G17 and G19 pistols

I own both a G17 and G19 pistol with the original old parts you're supposed to replace...they work fine.

I really like my 1998 vintage G19 I bought earlier this summer. A private purchase..I really don't think it had been shot very much by the previous owner. Sort of like buying a new gen2 Glock!

Those look like non full metal lined preban mags. Nothing wrong with them at all. Although they may not drop free from your pistol when fully loaded, a debatable feature. These are worth quite a bit in ban states. If they mean nothing to you sell them or trade them off for new ones on the equipment exchange to someone in a ban state.

I don't have an issue with them not dropping free so I kept mine and buy them when I find them at gun shows and such. They sit more flush to the bottom of the grip.

Those mags are "pre-ban" and would be worth a fair amount of money to someone in a ban state.

If you wish to hold onto the G19 as a possible collectors piece and/or wish to trade/sell it in the future, having the original mags might be worth something to the person buying it...something to keep in mind.
