| I have thought about doing a trigger job on my G19 for awhile and finall researched what parts need polished. There is still some information I would like before I start on it. First off, is there a preferred metal polish to use? Secondly, has there been anyone that used a Dremnel tool with a buffing wheel instead of using a Q tip? I was looking at using the buffing wheel with the metal polish and then finish with the Q tip. Thanks in advance for the help. |

I used Mother's Mag Polish compound, comes in a little red container.
Used a q tip and some cleaning patches. I really wanted to do a good job and not use a dremel since this is my carry gun. I did it to my G19 and it did help the break and reset just a little. Makes it a bit more crisp and smooth. Nothing drastic but it's worth it. Just do a little at a time, wipe off and check your work, once it's like a mirror, stop, no point in going any further. |

Tried this on my G23 a few days ago. Didn't notice any change except a little smoother taking up the slack. Going to try a 3.5 lb connector next. Nothing wrong with using a Dremel with a soft polishing wheel to save some time. Otherwise, have at it with a Q-Tip. Lots of vids on You Tube. I used a Q-Tip and a Dremel using Mothers metal polish. Flitz metal polish is another option, but I haven't used it.

There's a video tutorial of how to do it with a polishing wheel. |
