I have been using Dawson Precision front sights on my Gen 3 Glocks for a while now. Dawson sights have always fit perfectly with no modification.

Picked up a Gen 4 G17 and G34. Ordered some sights for them. When I installed them, the front sights were very loose.

I took a look at the slides, and the front sight holes are different on the Gen 4 slides. (they are more oval with slight grooves in the middle of each side.)

I just called Dawson, and they are going to look into it. Will keep you posted.

Maybe check your slides before ordering aftermarket sights.

I  had no problems with aftermarket sights on my G17/4 .  I would just put some loctite around the hole to fill in the gap when installing. once it drys, there should be no movement at all.

I will try that. Thanks.

just make sure it is centered to your liking. to speed up the drying, if you have a small toaster oven, put it in there are 150-200 degrees to heat up the slide. Won't hurt the sites. I done it multiple time when i needed to use the gun the next day.

Loctite's not made for filling in holes.  Get the right sights and only use loctite on the male screw threads.

That.

The sight not fitting perfectly in the hole is normal. Just make sure it's centered and torque it down good. Be careful not to break the tiny screw though.

Not filling holes, just the slight gap. once it hardens, its not moving. I've done a lot of Glock sites this way with no problems.

My mistake.  Never knew there was a difference in a gap and a hole!   Loctite's anaerobic.  It won't harden unless it's between two pieces of metal.
