Finally took the new G19 out to the range this morning.

Sadly I have the brass to the forehead issue. I did find that the ammo made a little difference.

With WWB 115gr fmj the brass about 80% of the time was kicked out to the right away from me. This was mainly on slow fire. With rapid fire I got a lot of hits to my hat.

With Hornady Zombie Defense max 115gr, Ya I picked up a couple of boxes for kicks, Every spent case went right over the top of my head, this ammo also seemed weaker than the WWB ammo.

I had 1 failure to eject, 2nd round fired, WWB. I attribute that to me, my grip was loose. No other malfunctions at all.

Now I am thinking about the ejection issue, could it be that with hotter loads, this would go away? My next step is going to try some different ammo, maybe speer lawman, and see what the results are before I swap out the ejector.

Still had a good time, first time shooting since 2008.

Had the same problem with a new Glock 17, solved my issue by replacing the 336 ejector with the 30274 and installing a White Sound HRED.  No longer have brass flying back at me, though the ejection pattern is still weak and erratic at best.  Waiting on Apex to finish their testing and release their extractor.  Prior to all this I was experiencing brass to forehead every mag sometimes half a magazine worth, erratic ejection (everywhere from the 3, 6, and even the 9 o' clock),  and experienced several malfunctions.  This was all with Speer Lawman 124 gr and Winchester 9mm Nato, the hotter rounds did not help out anything.

Exactly what I experienced as well.  The only thing hotter ammo did was sting more when it smacked me in the face.

Interesting. Well I have already ordered 500 rounds of Federal AE 124gr fmj.
