What you need to do is put a punch through the hole, squeeze in the sides of the base of the mag just above the floor plate and pull the floor plate off. It takes a good bit of force to get them off, especially the first time. This. I've even had to use a clamp or a vise to squeeze the sides of the base, then use the punch to pry it off. |

Get a Glock Armorers Disassembly tool (don’t have to but it makes life easier if you have a lot of Glocks). Insert the tool into the hole in the floor plate to depress the magazine insert (push the tool all the way down).
Apply just a little pressure on the side of the mag and push forward on the disassembly tool. This will make a small gap allowing you to place your finger over the spring so you slide of the floor plate off. I have never had to apply much pressure to the side of the magazine. |

The shorter mags are more dificult than the longer ones.
The Glock tool doesn't just depress the floorplate like most other brands,it actually pushes the floorplate down into the mag about a inch or so where it usually flips . The correct tool is a longer punch or nail or something that will push the floorplate way down |
