I like GLOCKS and would like to have one in 22caliber .
S&W, RUGER , SIG. and just about everyone else in putting one out .
But not GLOCK whats up with that I beleve they would sell boat load of them .
What do you Say.

I can't think of a good reason for Glock not to do this either, and am interested in seeing what everyone has to say about it.

I would love to see Glock make a .22, (not a re-badged, pot metal, Umarex etc.) (no offense meant to Umarex owners)

Glock's primary customer is LEO, medium sized militaries, and gendarmes.

Ask yourself....what would attract these customers to a .22cal?

If you answer is "nothing" you would be right.

The aftermarket picks up the slack nicely though

Though I do agree with you that it would be an awesome feature to own.

Glock does not seem to care what the public wants. Hence no Glock carbine, single stack 9mm, or .22.

I bet after seeing the sales that S&W are getting with the Shield they are kicking themselves now.

I love Glocks, but sadly their main focus is LE sales, not general public. They will learn the hard way one day, you can only be king for so long.

Nobody wants a Glock carbine.

The Single stack, and presumably a .22lr Glock would be blocked from import by the ATF "point" system.

The G26 barely squeaks by, and only because Smyrna replaces the disposable "target" sights upon arrival from Austria.

They Can't import a single stack, and presumably a .22LR.  They would have to make them here from the ground up.

They have capability, but not the capacity.

Its hard to beleive that Glock  sells more to LE inforcement and the military than all the consumers.
I myself have  7 glocks, and with all the CCW out there I would think the consumer would have the biggest share of the market.
I know that all GIs are not issued sidearms.

Buy an AA kit and a spare frame.  Conversions for an existing Glock are a cheaper option, but its nice to have a dedicated lower for a Glock 22LR.

I agree with that statement.  When someone says "Glock only cares about their LE sales...". It is an oversimplification.

Rather, large LE/Mil orders drive production in the factory, would likely be a more accurate statement.    They are a conservative, lean, manufacturer, but I think that the new US production space will give them the flexibility to get into the Classes of pistols that  we are discussing.

Advantage arms.  I doubt Glock could do it cheaper or better.

If you ask why Glock isn't doing something that every other customer-based firearms mfr is doing, you will have a loooooong list.

Glock makes durable, reliable guns that I can work on myself. I don't use them for their customer service, new products or anything else.

Kind of crappy to have to take that stance on it, but that's where I'm at.

I'm guessing they would rather stick to making guns for serious duty, rather than for the plinkers out there. They are behind on orders as it is. Not saying it wouldn't be cool, but they will probably not get into that market anytime soon.

As some one else mentioned the two big issues are 1)68 GCA restrictions and 2)capacity.  When I went through armorers school in August they were back ordered over 250,000 units.  So they can strive to meet demand or take the Kel-tec approach that makes finding what you want difficult.
