All this talk on late Gen 3s with 336 ejectors got me paranoid. I just wanted see if this sounds normal to you.
I picked up a used Gen 3 Glock 26 with K series serial. It has the 336 ejector. This will be my EDC so my paranoia has been increased. Ran 100 rounds of Federal 115gr Walmart stuff through it at lunch today. 2 rounds ejected to the left 2 rounds ejected over my head 96 rounds ejected about 2 feet to 4 o'clock in a very high arc. I don't think I have ever paid attention to ejection arcs except on my AKs cause they throw like 30 feet and I think it's funny. I noticed the left ejections and ones over my head were when firing very quickly. If I slow fired it was a consistent high arc pattern. Overall, I am not too worried. Is brass over/at the head pretty normal 4% of the time?

Ammo is Federal 115gr FMJ. Cheap Wally stuff. It was 100% jam free. Original owner said 100 rounds with no jams. Do the serious ejector issues include stovepipes, or more just erratic ejection patterns with 100% reliability. Thanks. its not an issue with the ejector, its the extractor thats causing problems with ejection..but as long as it ejects fine and you dont mind it being all over the place, youll be good to go.. |
| Look carefully at the brass, especially around the mouth (open end). Do they have a little scape or dent? I see a fair number of Glocks where the brass will hit the bottom inside (kinda sharp) edge of the ejection port as it exits the slide. That will throw them high and sometimes to the left. No problems with reliability at all, just scraps the brass a bit. It would irritate me because I reload. |

From what I gather, you say the arc changes when you shoot faster. The recoil, grip, follow through and trigger pull may be the variables that are changing the arc .... It is the same ejector and extractor each time right? Yeah I think I am good. Probably poor technique as I rapid fire. |
