A suppressor is in my distant future.  Where do I find a threaded barrel for a G17?  The only ones I have ever seen have been lonewolf and they always seem to be out of stock.  I would prefer a black color barrel, I am not crazy on shiny metal.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks everyone, I am embarrassed I missed that thread.  Is barrel threading standard?  as in will a factory glock threaded barrel work with any 9mm suppressor.  Also do they come with thread protectors?

The threading is dependant on the make, model and caliber of the suppressor.  Most 9mm are either 1/2 x28 TPI or 13.5x1mm LH(European) .  Most factory glock barrels are 13.5x1mm LH.

I have seen some odd ball thread pitches but then they were made by guys who did there own and had the machinery and no how to do it.

I see I have much more to learn.  Thanks for your answers.

Brownells has them from Lone Wolf for $129.95

In 1/2-28

If you picked up a suppressor in something other than 1/2-28 you'd be able to put a piston on the front to accept the suppressor's threads

.40 is usually 9/16-24 and .45cal is usually .578-28

.357sig is also usually 1/2-28 since the bore diameter is only a couple thousandths larger and will suppress using a 9mm can.

Given how well .40cal and .45 suppressors work on 9mm subsonic ammo, if you ever plan on suppressing a larger bullet than 9mm, get a bigger can and you'll have multiple-host capability.

The real   Brownell's price on that threaded G17 barrel is $106.  It's pretty easy to qualify for Brownell's trade discount.
