On Glocktalk.com  there is a serial number project thats been going on. I would like to contribute to it but for some reason I cant reply to threads. And yes I am a member but I dont go there very much. I called glock today and got the MFG date of all 5 of my glocks, none of which are already on the list.

If anyone here is a member and willing to do so, here is the info and you can pass it on. If not, thanks anyways and at least I know for my own knowledge.

1)    G22      2nd gen     DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT          serial #  06###DPD
Glocktalk says FEB. 1998 but glock told me FEB. 1992

2)    G23      2nd gen     serial #   BUX###            March  1996

3)    G23      3rd gen      serial#    CPU###           February 1998

4)    G27      2.5 gen      serial#    CHB###           June    1997

5)    G17       2nd gen    serial#    AZG###           October   1992

That thread is pretty much dead. The guy who started it no longer updates it.

I've been thinking we should start one too.

We can't let those faggots at GT one up us.

If we are gonna do this let's put in a better sequence.

Serial Number - Model - Generation - Born Date (Date from fired casings or date code, if applicable. Month and year only, please.) - Notes about particular gun.

I will use my G34 as an example:

RUL### - G34 - Gen4 - 08/2011 - Blue Label w/ night Sights and 4.5# Connector

Thats fine with me, this is easier to use anyways, so thank you AND yourwelcome for starting this thread. I'm gonna give myself a pat on the back for doing nothing.

I wonder if we could copy what they have already done in that other thread into a sticky here, and then just update it from now on.

Don't bother, the thread hasn't been updated for over a year and the guy who started it may never return. I don't know if the mods/admins over there would allow someone else to add onto it, so far they haven't.

Thanks for that. Before your post, the last reported prefix to use the investment cast extractor was LHY. Now we know it extends at least as far as LTR.

If they aren't going to update it, we need to copy what they have to update it.    I wouldn't even mind volunteering to help, if there are no issues with doing that.

I believe I brought that up a few years back but got a No because it was their data. Not sure?

Interesting. All that information is public right? Out on a public forum for some time now. It's just information provided by the users of GT over the years. I could copy the whole thread and save it on my hard drive. So, what trouble do we (arfcom) run into for re-publishing it here? Is there some sort of copyright they have on the information? I'm not an attorney so I'm not sure what the ramifications here are.

^^^ Same questions for me

It seems like an awful waste to just let that one go when we have willing people here.
