I was in the market for a used Glock 22 and found one at a good deal It was test fired i I was wondering are the ejection issues mainly with the 9mm or what. The gun was test fired in Oct 2007
I would appreciate the help. |
| Seems pretty hit or miss as of late. You still get a handfull each week posting about a lil brass on the forehead but for the most part has been resoved. My newest is stamped 4/6/11 and have not one issue. I have G19, G17 & G26 Gen4 without issue..........Dont be skeered get one |
| The new issues seem to be from guns manufactured from 2010 on and mostly in 9mm. That 2007 G22 should be GTG. If you have issues with a light attached make sure you're running new(ish) magazines –– with an 8 or 9 follower and a 1 or 2 on the back of the mag body. Don't overtighten the light, just hand tight. I test all my .40s with a light attached even if I'm not going to use it that way just to see. I've never had a light attached malfunction in a .40. |

I was in the market for a used Glock 22 .... The gun was test fired in Oct 2007 I'd feel safe buying it. The first report of the ejection problem I heard was in the M-series of serial number prefixes. The last known serial number prefix to use the good old investment cast extractor was LHY, and the first reported serial number prefix to use the new "MIM" extractor was LZV. My NRR G27 had the ejection problem, the 28926 ejector fixed it. |

When Glocks are bought by men with girlie-man wrists, they sometimes display erratic ejection patterns. This is Tech, not GD. Chill. All 3 of my 9mm Glocks eject erratically with certain ammo, and with multiple shooters on the gun. Its not "weak wrists", its a genuine problem. That said, I still love'em. |

Fragalistic you are kind of new around here so maybe you dont know, they dont take kindly to acting like that in a tech forum on this site. |

Mainly with 9mm but it exists in .40 and .357SIG as well. I had problems with a gen 4 21. Not doubting you, but that is the first issue I have heard of with a G21. Damn they need to get to the bottom of this, the glock handgun is too damn good for this |

I started focusing more on the empties than the front sight. |
| The .45 and 10mm models are still susceptible to getting an out-of-spec extractor, the same with any Glock. But every case I've heard of erratic ejection with a .45 was fixed with a new extractor, I've never seen anything to suggest that they have the same problem as the 9/40/357 models with the cut-out in the slide that holds the extractor possibly being out-of-spec. I wouldn't doubt that .45 and 10mm models could have that problem, I've just never owned one or even heard from someone who suspected that was the cause. |

Must be that only Gen 3 and 4 Glocks are bothered by my "giirlie wrists" ![]() My attempt at mild humor! I'm aware that there have been some problems, first caused by a recoil spring that was too strong (which, of course, would be exacerbated by girlie wrists) and then there're the different ejectors and extractors that have been replaced. |

But, after getting hit enough times, it can have an effect on the shooter's ability to shoot the gun well. I know it would, and has, bothered me. |

The only pistol I have ever had that hit me around head, face or shoulders was a used first gen sigma I bought. Sent it back to smith and they fixed it. I believe they replaced the ejector and extractor. But yea its distracting as hell when trying to shoot with a pistol thats doing that

I went ahead and bought it today $319 out the door Serial # LPA+++. It Has been shot some but internal parts are in great condition only minor circling on barrel and outside looks almost brand new. Took it out in the backyard and put 200rds of Federal Champion thru it and another 100rds of Winchester Ranger Bonded 180gr (my carry load in my other 22/27s) and it performed flawless all rounds eject at 3-4 o clock low position and all were in about a 3 yrd circle. Funny thing is 2 of the other Glock 22s (I own 7 as I run a private investigation/secuirty service and provide all weapons) I own were a pair I purchased back end of 2007 both with LPA and night sights from the factory. This one is only 20 #s higher than those 2. This eased my mind becuase those 2 have been flawless with thousands of rds. downrange. So i now have 3 Glock 22 with LPA serial #s
Thanks for all the help/ |
