So I am on the fence about trading in my XD40 SC towards a Glock 29. What are the good and the bad about the 10mm ? Conversion reliability with .40, 357 sig and 9x25 Dillon ? Does anyone have the 22 conversion and how do you like it ? This will be used for home defense, CCW and woods gun with a longer 10mm barrel. Any info will help me with my decision. Also if you have any pics please post so I can dream

I have yet to get into the 10mm game, but I think if I could start all over again it would be with a G29 and G20.

I have the 29 and its one of my favorite carry guns. I had the 22lr kit and ended up selling it. It worked decent but wasn't what I thought it would be.

Have you had a chance to hold one yet?  They are noticeable thicker than the other glocks, so much that I wouldn't want to carry one unless it's in a OWB holster.  With that being said, I would like to own one eventually.

I've had one since the first came out.  Love it, EDC it 75% of the time.  Other EDCs come and go but the G29 has been faithful.  I also have 2 G20s and have started the G20 Long Slide build waiting for LWD to get parts in.

I have not held the G29 but a LGS told me it is the same frame as the G30 and the G30 fit my hand quite nicely. I have big mitts

Mine is super accurate!  But wide and heavy.  GREAT gun!!!  My will be sold to pay for 9mm ammo though

I should probably sell my G29.  Nothing wrong with it, but it spends its life in my safe.  I have a G20 for 10mm range use.   I carry a G26 daily, but have, on rare occasions, carried the G29.  It's not uncomfortable to carry, just heavier than my G26.

My primary carry gun since 2006, love it!

I have owned my G29 (and G30) since around 1998 and have had zero problems with it. I carry my G29 in winter and G30 in summer and it is incredibly accurate. The primary drawback to any 10mm is ammo availability/cost. If you reload or are willing to buy ammo online, it is a great pistol. Every person who has fired my G29 has instantly fallen in love with the size/power/accuracy it offers. Definitely one of my favorite handguns.

I carry a 26 or a 19 everyday but take the 29 on camping, ATV, archery hunts, etc. Very accurate and powerful handgun in a pretty small package. I've carried it OWB before but in Florida it prints awful. Nice handgun and I would buy another. Underwood ammo is a great source for inexpensive full power rounds.

You can't go wrong with the g29. I have the g29sf and couldn't be happier. I put the TFO night sights on and added the storm lake ported barrel for faster follow up shots.
A 3.5lb connector and Tungsten Competition Guide Rod with the 21# recoil spring. I reload  at the higher end of the load data and the 21# spring lowers the abuse on the gun.
You well enjoy this gun any way you set it up.

So I went to a couple of LGS's looking to see if any close by had one in stock and got looks like "Glock what ?" or "just sold the last one". This seems to be an elusive beast in my area and may have to order online. Anyone know of a good site with a low price ?  I have been quoted locally from 585 to 650, does that sound right ?

Sounds high to me,  unless you're talking about with night sights.  I doubt that I'll ever buy another new Glock.  I try to find l.n. Glocks ftf here in my home state.  I generally pay $400-$425 for l.n. Glocks.  Sometimes I've gotten extra mags, holsters, ammo, etc., as part of the deal.
