I bought a couple of Gen2s from AIM's latest batch.  The guns are very nice, and shoot very well.  I did notice that the triggers felt different than my other Gen2, and my gen3.  Thinking that they may have a different disconnector, I took a look.  Upon 1st examination, I saw there was no Trigger Spring Coil in the trigger housing.  Out popped the pins, and what did I find in it's place?

This

The model # of the Trigger housing is the same as my other Gen2, and Gen3.  Both of which have a Trigger Coil.

I decided that I liked the idea of having a trigger spring coil in the gun better than the plastic part, so I switched them both out.  Everything went in like it's supposed to, and function tests result in nothing abnormal.  My question is whether I should keep the original parts in the guns, or the spring.  There is no model number stamped on the plastic part, and google has not gotten me anywhere.

Here is a pic of it back together with the normal spring (model sp00350)

Thanks in advance, and please do not bash me, I am no gunsmith.

Thats a NY trigger.  Keep the S spring in it unless you like the 8+ Lb ny trigger

Gotcha, I just googled NY trigger spring.  Thanks.

That is actually just part of a NY Trigger spring. There should be a coil spring on the post between the upper and lower arms. Without the spring it wasn't going to be an actual 8lb pull and probably less durable.

From the pictures I've seen, the NY Trigger Spring being sold doesn't have the thin metal spring along the inside like mine does, but instead has a round one that you speak of.  I don't think mine is missing a spring, but is a different (maybe older) model.  Either way, it's out of both guns, and will not be going back in.

you have an old first model one. Its worth as much as the gun as they are rare. Just kidding.

Is yours an old NYC gun?

Must be an NYPD trade in. An old one at that. The NY trigger is awful IMO.

Just out of curiousity, if it was a NYPD gun it would have standard land and groove rifling rather than Glock "polygon" rifling. NYPD ordered them that way I understand. Made it easier to do ballistic matching in multiple officer shootings.

Probably not a PD gun from NY as we have a "cradle to grave" law that says once it is owned by the .gov it can't be sold out to the populace . They either warehouse them for later or smelt them down . JMHO . edit - unless it was owner before the law went into effect (date ???)

Rifling looks the same as my other G2, and G3, AIM said that these were trade-ins, so they did come from some law enforcement.
