| I have shot both but never side by side, so dont have enough first hand knowledge to compare the 2. However, I have heard from several people that their 23's are more accurate than their 22's. Anyone able to weigh in on this? Accurate assesment? |

Either one is more accurate than 99% of all shooters. Between the two, I'd give the 22 a theoretical edge in absolute accuracy due to a slightly longer sight radius - but the practical difference is nothing.
FWIW, I've hit a golf ball at 74 yards with my G23. It will do if you will. |

And in theory the 22 should be slightly more accurate than the 23 due to the longer barrel and sight radius. However, theory oftentimes does not equal reality. So I was just curious if anyone had first hand experience with one being more accurate than the other. And fwiw, in true arfcom fashion both will be purchased at some point in the near future. And 74 yards....why 74? |

Either gun could be more accurate depending on the pistol and the shooter. Splitting hairs. |

It's hard to say which one is more accurate because I've never put either a G23 or G22 in a ransom rest to get an actual accuracy test.
I find my G22 is a touch more comfortable to shoot. I have short little midget/girly fingers so almost all of my G23s are grip reduced (or at the least sanded on) so I can reach the trigger properly. The G22 *seems* a a little more comfortable to shoot because the hump is correspondingly lower, which means my finger can get slightly closer to the trigger. All this said, I have far more G23s, carry the G23 and shoot them the most. Subjectively they both seem about the same level of accuracy. |

I shoot accurately with either one. I seem to be a touch more consistent with the 23 over the 22. And I usually shoot the 27 better than either. I shoot my 27 better than both as well. Which makes sense considering I shoot that gun better than any other gun I own or shoot |

And I usually shoot the 27 better than either. Funny how that works isn't it? Probably because we hold those a bit tighter. Quoted:

Which makes sense considering I shoot that gun better than any other gun I own or shoot One of my musings about why this is, or why this seems to be the case for many people–– Especially when shooting the 26/27/33 with the flush magazines, we cannot apply any pressure to the grip of the pistol with our pinky fingers. Pinky finger pressure is not necessary to shoot a handgun well. But, perhaps we overgrip our pistols by applying too much pressure with our pinkies when it's not really needed. During one range session when I was outshooting my G23 with my G27, I picked my G23 back up and shot it but focused on applying no pressure to the grip with my pinky. I shot a tighter group. Could just be me. Just a personal observation I'm throwing out there. |

And 74 yards....why 74? Because that was the distance between the firing line and the berm at a class I was teaching in Salt Lake City. ;) I still have the ball for sh*ts and giggles. If it hadn't been for the little red stripe on it, I'd never have found the damn thing after it was hit. Seriously, there is no difference in accuracy between them. |

What sights do you all have on your G23s? I need a recommendation for new ones. I've used all kinds but prefer the meprolight fixed night sights. I like the dot size and the gap between the rear and front sights in the notch feels good. The meps are inexpensive, perform well, and are easy to install. I normally get them online at Glockmeister. I really didn't like the ashley big dot line as the dot sizes are way too big for me to shoot accurately at distance. I know others that do like them though for ease of pick up at close ranges. I just don't find that to be an issue for me. It is more about training and consistent muscle memory for me at 25 yards and in. I shoot my pistol at 100 yards for fun and to practice fundamentals so I want a sight I can use out further. |
