I finally took my new Gen4 G19 to the range this week. I bought it about a year ago. I was nervous after reading all the horror stories, but I have to say I didn't have a single problem. Spent cartridges ejected just they way they should and no FTF or FTE.
My only issue was my groups were all high and to the left about 2-3 inches. The groups were real tight, but just all high and to the left. I also had my new Kahr P9 and was nailing the center of the target with no issue, so I don't think it was my technique. Any suggestions? |
| I wouldn't worry about a couple inches high at 7-10, I bet it prints on at 25 yards. Only a couple inches left at 7-10 yards isn't too bad either. Could just be the Glock trigger you're getting used to. Every Glock I've ever owned/shot was dead on from the factory. I'd shoot it a bit longer before worrying about your windage. |

Instead of adding another thread just like this one, thought I'd jump on board (hopefully the OP doesn't mind)
Just got back from running my new Gen 4 Glock 19 through its paces. Didn't even clean the thing first, just a dab of gun oil on the slide and off we went! 180 error free rounds later, and I think I'm a 1911 to Glock convert.
I was shooting monarch brass cased 115 grain FMJs. One hit me in the head. Other than that, fairly positive if slightly erratic ejection. But no FTF or FTE. Mine does have the newer extractor/recoil spring in it. I really really like this gun.

| The gun is a beast. I've decided to break in my new gen 4 19 Saturday at IDPA. I usually shoot my 17, but I've been aching to shoot the 19. If it screws up first time through, I'll swap it for the 17 for the rest of the day. My experience with my dealer, plus the Gen 4's, I'm not anticipating any mishaps. I've repalaced all of my Gen 3's for Gen 4's and haven't looked back. |

Assuming the were all at the 10-11 o'clock area you're anticipating the recoil. If you're able to move your group back to the right and you're still hitting high, lollipop the target versus aiming POI. |
