I have read that the recent Gen 3 G19s have ejector and extractor problems. My G19 is from May, 2011, I believe and I can't remember the numbers, but it does have the "less desirable" parts from when I looked awhile back. However, it is reliable and does not shoot brass in my face. The only slight problem I have is that the extractor takes some messing around with to get it out of the slide upon disassembly, but it comes out eventually.

I've read that some of the recent G19s have incorrectly machined slides, so what gives here? Should I be trying to send this back to glock or what? I believe the only malfunctions I've ever had are from limp wristing and weak mags.

If it works fine, leave it alone.  If you do decide to contact Glock, don't tell them you have done more than field strip it, for example your extractor "problem," because doing so technically voids the warranty.

Not all of the Gen 3 and Gen 4 pistols require new extractors or updated ejectors. Keep shooting your pistol as it could be fine. As far as difficulty removing the extractor, this isn't a big deal and can usually be fixed by a little light sanding of the top and bottom of the extractor where it contacts the slide.
