I have A Norinco 1911-A1, that said iam looking to do some mods on it. First I often come across CHIP MCCORMICK parts ( hammers, triggers, slide releases, grips ) 1. can they be fitted without gunsmith? 2. any problems??? Also I need to reblue my slide due to dicoloring is it possible or reccomended to do myself? Should I just buy new slide instead, if so which? If a gunsmith is needed could anyone give me an idea of how extensive or minor this work is and if you had similar work done what it cost. For all this perspective work would it be more cost effective to spend $750+ on Kimber?? Also I have a bushing cap on my 1911 that is also a muzzle break it is inexpensive $20+ and makes a signifigant impact on controllability and seems to lighten recoil. The only negative is it adds 1 inch to the gun but it is no less concealable in my veiw depending on your holster of course. I've had a positive experience with it and thought I would share. |
| Everything I've been told an seen says that Norinco is as good as any other 1911 their just hard to find. I dont want to spend an additional $750+ on A Kimber if the one I have can do the job I have never had any problems with mine 800+ rounds in the last year I'm just looking to tweek and optimize. So I am asking about the parts, which to buy, the rebluing process, and any feedback concerning either. |
Thats a pretty broad brush. Go over to 1911forum.com and ask. You will get more feedback than you will from an AR site. Good Luck. |
