I got the urge to get another Glock, but can't decide. I have a 23 now and am thinking of either a 17 or 21. I am going to keep carrying the 23 so the issue of size is not a concern. Although a woman might think differently I had both a 17 and 21 in the past, but have since commited the ultimate sin and sold both. I no longer have a .45 of any kind, but do have a Browning Hi power in 9mm. Now, should I get the 21 so I have a .45 in my collection or get a 17 so I have 2 guns in same caliber and can shoot a Glock for cheaper than feeding my 23? Also, night sights are about $60 extra. Since I don't plan on carrying this one, think I should go without or pay the extra and get the night sights? Would really like another .45, but 9mm is SSOOOO cheap to shoot. I can get a 100rd box of Winchester at Walmart for $10. Thanks for any input,  Terry

I'm all for consolidation of ammo, so I'd opt for the 9mm 17/19, and continue to buy quantity of 9.  Plus, while I love the Glock 21...great shooting handgun, the older/wiser I get, the more I've come to believe in shot placement, not the "perfect bullet", so....the .45 is great, but the 9 is a quicker follow-up handgun/round in my opinion.....

BUT....if you got the cash or a good deal, I'd also consider buying both.

My .02$.....

Cheers!

I have both.  I love both.  As said above - GET BOTH!

ETA:  After reading what you write below and considering that (as you wrote above) you aren't going to carry it, already have a 9mm BHP, can shoot 9mm cheaper, etc. - I'd have to give the G17 the slight edge.

Gun of the month club would be cool, but I was actually trying to slow down the last few months. Just bought a new for me motorcycle the other month and getting some work done on the house. With already around 70 guns, my wife is going to shit if I get back into buying another gun every few weeks BTW, I usually register on sites with the name Williedikker, but had to change it to Williedikker72 to get in on here. A few places I am listed as WillieD  Thanks for the replies, but I still have to think this one over. Goddamnit!!! I should have never sold the other 2 in the first place  Thanks,  Terry

Edit: Any thoughts about the sights???
