I got converted some time back, bought a G22 and carry it always.  Shoots good and works, that's all I need.  Went to my local gun shop the other day and got a chance to handle a G23 in both Gen 3 and Gen 4.  The grip on the Gen 4 sold me.  It is excellent, a step above the Gen 3 and feels more secure in my hand.  There is a question in all of this, any recommendations on sight upgrades?  This will be my new carry gun.

I wouldn't put sights on it until you're sure it works.

You are going to be epic pissed when Glock swaps it with a GEN3 in a couple months and keeps your fancy sights.

I went with the Meprolight tru dot night sites,

Work great.

You'll like the gen 4.   I've been carrying a gen4 G22 IWB every day for a year and a half.

No problems, much better grip.

I've had Trijicons and Meprolights, no problems with either.

My G23 Gen4 has been flawless.  Sights are Ameriglo Pro Operator tritium front and plain black rear.

I've been going with Meprolight green front and yellow rear. After some lessons learned at the beginning of the year, my new process is to run 3 or 4 hundred rounds through the gun. If that goes well, the next step is night sites, holsters, and spare magazines.

One had the gen3 and gen4, flawless on the gen 4 so far and I've modded it as well with flawless function. I just have the factory night sites on mine since it came with them. I have no hate for the gen4 at all. I would like to pick up a gen3 19 to mod as well.

Ditto that on my G23 Gen 4.

The new Trijicon HD sights are the best out right now IMHO

Not factory at all. Simply saying I like my gen4 just as much as my gen 3.

I have a gen3 G22 and G23.  Both have Heine Slant Pro sights on them.  I really like those sights as combat sights.  They wont be as accurate as bo-mar type sights but they are very fast for iron sights.  The front sight is taller and thinner than Trijicons or meprolites, so target acquisition and sight picture is faster for me.  The heine sights are the straight eight type night sights and any handgun I buy this is usually the 1st mod I make to them.  You wont be disappointed with them!!!

Thanks for the feedback on sight options.  I am looking at all those recommended in the post.  I ran 140 rounds of some old .40 ball ammo I have and the G23 did not miss a beat.  Going tomorrow and run some Federal Premium 180 Gr. Hydra Shok JHP, let you know how it performs with these loads.
