How is the recoil of a 10mm? I heard it was real bad. I heard the FBI was thinkng about going to the 10mms and the FBI didn't want to because they found that some of there best shooters were less accurate with the 10mm.

Depends on the gun.  In a G20 recoil isn't bad at all, thanks to the massive slide.   I had a G20 years ago and shot it side by side with my buddy's Colt Delta Elite (also 10mm).  Recoil on the G20 was noticeably less.

I fired 50 rounds Doubletap 180gr FMJ. Recoil was not a problem for me. I'm 200 lbs., have average size hands, and in average shape for a 50+ guy. The Glock 20 is the most powerful handgun I have fired, with the exception of a S&W 44 mag I tried at a range. With the factory grips, now THAT is recoil! And the muzzle blast was like a carrier takeoff. The grip is a little rough. If I were going to shoot an extended session, I might look into the AGRIP from Brooks Tactical Systems.

One interesting note. I had not been there long when a guy showed up with a Glock 23. Turns out he was from the same town I grew up in in South Alabama, about my age. Small world. He was a Big guy with huge hands, and they really got chewed from the slide.

Anyway, hope this helps. If at all possible, try to rent, borrow or at least handle one before buying.
