Ok first off I have a Gen4 17 I can put round after round in and around the 10 ring so it's not the nut behind the trigger I think.    So here's the problem, I hold the same spot on the target and I get hits all over the target and after 50 rounds the target looks like it's been hit by a shotgun.  Just to be sure it wasn't me I had several other shooters at the range with Glocks test fire it and they get the same results.  I also talked to a gunsmith at the range and they test fired it and said that there was definitely something going on with it and thought it might be something to do with the nickel boron process that was done on the barrel and slide before I bought it.  He said to change out the RSA first and then change out the barrel if I still had problems.  This was going to be my CCW but I'm not comfortable carrying it the way it's performing right now and really don't want to sell it.  Any one else had any issues with their Glocks acting like this?  I have already requested the new RSA from Glock.  If I need a new barrel what should I get?  OEM from Glock, a Lone wolf barrel or something else?  And would a trigger job help?

Thanks for any help

have you tried shooting it from a rest to see if your grouping improves? when i first started shooting i was all over the place until i learned better trigger control.

Multiple people that are better shooters than me have tried my 19 with the same results.  Not a shooter problem it seems.

You sound pretty credible, I would just send it back to Glock with some details  - and maybe a decent group from your 17 to help them realize it's not you.

Sorry to sound critical, but obvously AR15.com is filled with posts by people that can't shoot complaininig  about their hardware being inaccurate.

Yeah I thought it was me for a while until a guy I would consider an expert offered to see what happened if he shot it and he got similar results along with several others over the next few minutes.  Basically anyone that shot my 19 didn't get a warm and fuzzy about it much less acceptable round placement on the target.  And I debated if I should even post anything at all about the subject due to the possible answers I would get, but decided it was to important to resolve this issue if possible.  Ultimately I may have to carry the 19 to Glock since I live only a few miles from them and see if they can reolve the issue.

I'd send it back, but if I were going to investigate it, I'd look at the barrel locking lug / cam to see if its out of spec.

Wasn't there a thread about the crown being off on a Glock barrel ? I thought I saw it here ?

I'll have to see if I can find that subject.  So after setting here for many hours switching between the 17 and 19 dry firing them, I think there is a difference in the triggers between the two.  The 19's trigger seems heavier and harder to pull than the 17's trigger.  So I think I will change out the connector to see if that changes anything for a starter while I wait on my RSA replacement from Glock.

I know quite a few who own 19`s and no one has your issues. I think you need to find a Ransom rest and make sure whats going on you will definitely be able to tell Glock what is wrong why piece meal it along.

I would do this.

Thanks for all the posts.  If I'm going to carry it to Glock I'm going to have to wait until after Christmas for when I have some time off.  And dang I hate to wait that long.  Any thoughts on swapping out my 17 barrel with the 19 to see if it might be the barrel although it's not really a serious idea I would consider right now.

I don't think that the 17 barrel will fit the 19.

I just tried putting a gen 3 G17 barrel in a gen 4 G19. Took some persuading to get it back apart

While shooting it off of a rest is all well and good. Just because one person is having trouble with a Gen 4 doesn't mean it isn't founded. It is coll that your friends aren't having trouble, but he is. He already has a glock, and shoots it well. And the barrel and sight radius are not that far off. About an inch in both areas, so it isn't like going from a match grade 1911 to a J frame with a 8 pound DA trigger.

This G19 needs to go back. The barrel might be off or something may not be right. They need to take a look at it.
