Was watching American rifleman tonight on TV and they had Gun Stories on about the Glock pistols.
Ken hackthorn said if he had to have just one handgun it would be a Glock 17, But his favorite handgun was some other brand did anyone eles see gun stories and hear just what brand of handgun that was.
I appreciate your time to answer.

If I had to guess it would be the HK45 or HK45C.

Saw that episode, too. He was talking about the 1911 platform, in general, not a specific brand.

Yes, he is a BIG 1911 fan...
I am as well and have some amazing customs by Yost, Harrison etc
BUT
That being said if I could only have one handgun to protect myself it would be a Glock as well.

I agree with that statement.

But hopefully I'll never be in a position where I can have only one pistol.

I took Hachathorn's Advanced Pistol in Sep here in Idaho. There he mentioned the G-19 as his one gun pistol. Great guy by the way.

Over the last 7 years I've carried a G26, a G19, and now carry a CZ P-01

I wouldn't have a problem carrying any of the 1911's I've owned either, though.

But if, God forbid, I could only have one gun, it'd be a Glock.  No question.  If something goes wrong with it, a Glock can be fully overhauled and any part replaced with nothing more than your two hands and maybe a single punch.  There's no gunsmithing to be done on a Glock, at all.  Since I could only have one gun, I couldn't afford for it to be down for an extended period while I putz with it, and sending it away for a few days to a smith would be out of the question.

That would suck wouldnt it

I prefer the M&P by a slight margin over my glocks but if I could only have one, I would probably go with one of my glocks as I have more mags and holsters for it.
