Well when I bought my G19 a couple of months ago I told my wife this was the last gun for awhile So I am going to be selling my XD40 SC and either getting another G19 or a G26 but I cannot decide. It's for home defense and CCW. Not looking to get a G17 though. Any recommendations between the two?

Tough call.  Either way you're going to buy the other one eventually so it doesn't really matter which one you buy now.  Been down that road before.

G26! They are awesome!

Do a search around here and you'll find a thread I posted with a group I shot with my 26 at 10-12 yards. You'll see what I mean.

I was thinking I would probably have a second G19 AND a G26. wish I could swing it and get both now. Probably could If i sold my Draco.

Thats some good shooting with the G26! kind of leaning more towards that way.

Since you've already got the G19, get it's baby brother.  For me, there is a world of difference between concealed carry of the two.  While the G19 is fine for winter wear, the G26 conceals well under Tshirts or guayabaras in the summer.

this, if you have a G19 already, then go for the G26 and try it out. You can use your current magazines in the G26 too or get the mag extensions for the G26 magazines. The G26 has the rounded corners for concealed carry.

Yeah, with the G26, plus2 floorplates, IMHO are a must. Again That's just my opinion.

You'll wind up with a 26, another 19 and a 17 at the very least down the road anyway... it's really just about the order in which you want to buy them

Personally, as a few others have said, I'd get the 26 first.  It fills a niche when the 19 feels just a bit too big.  I love my 26, and it sees a fair amount of carry.

But why not just go with the 19 if you're going to make the grip the same size by adding a +2 to the 26 (and yet still end up with less rounds than the 19)?

Not knocking the idea, just curious.

Think I am going with the G26 and get another G19 down the road in January. It would be a lot easier to conceal especially at work. Sometimes I feel the 19 is too big. I sell boats for a living so I'm always crawling around showing customers different things so it has a tendency to stick out. I carry it in an MTAC.

I forgot to ask you guys another question on a G26 and that is my brother just picked one up and paid around $800 for it. Came with three mags and a crimson laser and is a Gen 4 but is that a little high?

This.  The damn things are taking over my safe.

Remember, all Glock 9mm mags are compatible with the smaller models: 34>17>19>26

So, might as well go out and by some 17-round mags now, since you know you'll eventually buy a 17 or 34, too.  Even a 33-rounder or two....

YEa that is a little too high for me, I can get a G34 gen 4 or gen3 for 599.99 new.

Two reasons:

1) Even with the plus 2 floorplates a G26 will hold only 12 rounds. The G19 holds what, 15? Theres still a three round diference grip lenght, The grip on the 19 is beefier no matter how you look at it. Also the slide on the G19, is of course, longer. Small diferences are a big deal when it comes to carrying a sidearm.

2) With the G26 you can always go back to the original configuration of the 10 round mag, or carry it with the plus two extension on your waistband and with the 10 rounder mag when you're ankle carring, like I do.

Again, opinions are like assholes, everybody got one

Get the 26 buy some factory 12 round mags and get some G18 mags as well.  With the right holster the 26 conceals easier than the 19.

$800 seems high but I haven't bought a Glock in a long time.  SportingArms has one for $475 without the laser.
