For those that have them how do you like it? How has the accuracy and reliability been?
thanks all |

Got the AA kit on a 17.
The accuracy is good and depending on ammo is what is to be expected with rimfire. With the recommended Rem. Golden bullet ammo My Daughter and I put a 550 box thought it with maybe 5-8 failures. I am MUCH happier with it than the Sig Mosquito She has. |
| When it comes to 22 conversions for Glocks I've used Advantage Arms and Cieners. I have never used the new Tactical Solutions Glock 22 conversion which is only available for the Glock 17/22/31/34/35. I recommend the Advantage Arms which run good after a few hundred rounds. Advantage Arms recommends CCI mini mags and Remington Golden bullets but after many thousands of rounds my Glock 17/22 and 26/27 work with Federal 36 grain bulk. If I do my part I can hit a steel shaped bowling pin off hand at 100 yards with my 17/22 kit. I can easily hit 9" X 12" steel plates at 25 and 50 yards with the 26/27 kit. I usually run Breakfree CLP and if my pistol starts to stove pipe I usually need to lube the sliding ejector or clean the pistol. I shoot my Glock 17 frame with 17/22 AA target kit more than any other pistol. I also use an AA standard 1911 kit on my Rock Island Armory which gets shot almost as often as the Glock with AA kit. Ciener Glock kits are an inferior design to the AA and I don't recommend the Ciener kit for Glocks. |

Jonathon can be a real bonehead if you have any problems with the ciener kit.... |

I have an AA kit for my 17/34 frame. Over all it's been very reliable and fairly accurate. I did have some reliability issues at one point but that was mostly a combo of one mag being ammo sensitive. I wish that mags held more then 10 rounds but apparently nobody has been able to make a flush fitting .22LR magazine that can hold more then 10rds?
The 2 things to remember with the AA kit is 1. They need to be kept wet (like almost dripping wet). They may look like Glock uppers but they are not so don't treat them like they are by running them dry. 2 They are ammo sensitive. AA recommends CCI Minimags and form my own testing I have found that Hi-Velocity ammo works the best in them. While I have had good luck with CCI standard and Federal AutoMatch ammo, my favorite so for is CCI Blazers which are basically CCI Mini mags without the coating and for half the price |

Where's the best place to buy the AA kit? Really glad I found this thread, I was just getting ready to order a Ceiner kit... what he said Found one at my LGS for about what they go for everywhere else. Just do a Google search for all gun stores in your zip code and call all the ones close to you and see if they have one. |

The TS kit is out but in limited numbers. Google "TSG-22 review" and you will see some review form actual users. So far it's not looking good IMO
The 3 main reported advantages of the TacSol kit over the AA kit were... 1. TSG uses a steel slide, AA uses Aluminum slide. Granted I like the idea of a steel side better and would make the kit feel more realistic but I have questioned since day one how well that steel slide will work with standard .22LR ammo? In a blow back design, that's a lot of steel for a standard pressure .22LR round to push back. The reviews I read so far seem to indicate that TacSol hasn't properly addresses that issue? 2. TSG comes with 15rd mags. AA comes with 10rd'ers. That sounded great at first but TSG's mags stick out the bottom and I'm reading that they are not very reliable past 13rds? Maybe it's just me but I would prefer a reliable, flush fitting 10rd mag over an unreliable, extended mag. 3. The TSG kit can be ordered with a threaded barrel. True but you can order a thread barrel for the AA kit or an extended barrel that you can have custom threaded if you prefer. Even better is you can get an AA kit and order a second, thread barrel for less money then what the standard, non-threaded TSG-22 kit cost. In short, I hope TacSol can work out the bugs with their kit because if they can, I think it will be nice kit but today, the AA kit is cheaper, easier to find and more reliable. |

Between the two, they both function the same. But one thing i did like about the tac sol kit was that i didn't have to drown it in lubricant before use.
One thing i noticed from talking with customers and co workers is that to properly use an AA kit, they would have to really lube everything up (YMMV) With the tac sol kit, i juts lubed what i would normally lube on a standard glock and it was fine. The kit is great, i liked the threaded barrel and the 15rnd mags. There were a couple things that bugged me about it. (IIRC) You needed a tool to disassemble and clean - I also had to fidget with it to remove it from my Gen 4 17 frame (YMMV) Other than that, it was a great kit |
