| Ok here is the deal. I am looking to by my first every day carry gun and am looking at the glock 36. i have fired the glock 21 and really enjoy it, and want to know how much of the 21s controlability transfers over to both the glock 30 and 36. between the too which would you pick for a 6ft 155lbs man for everyday carry? |

The 30 will take 21 mags. Not the best for CCW like that though. The 36 carries only 6 rounds, however I recommend throwing a +1 extension on the mags to make them fit in your hand a little bit better. I carried the 36 concealed everyday for a few years. It was pretty easy to conceal being so thin. Can't really go wrong with either...

I was also wondering about hadling simularities, am i going to get handspanked by the 30 or the 36 due to the loss of mass? i would test it but i dont know anyone that has one and they arent usually for rent at the gun range.. |

Glock 36:
CALIBER .45 AUTO WEIGHT 570 g / 20.11 oz. LOADED (~) 765 g / 26.99 oz. LENGTH 172 mm / 6.77 in. HEIGHT 121 mm / 4.76 in. MAG. CAPACITY Standard: 6 OPTIONAL- WIDTH 28.5 mm / 1.13 in. LINE OF SIGHT 157 mm / 6.18 in. BARREL LENGTH 96 mm / 3.78 in. Glock 30: CALIBER .45 AUTO WEIGHT 680 g / 23.99 oz. LOADED (~) 960 g / 33.86 oz. LENGTH 172 mm / 6.77 in. HEIGHT 121 mm / 4.76 in. MAG. CAPACITY Standard: 10 OPTIONAL 9 / 13 WIDTH 32.5 mm / 1.27 in. LINE OF SIGHT 151 mm / 5.95 in. BARREL LENGTH 96 mm / 3.78 in. Glock 19: CALIBER 9x19 WEIGHT 595 g / 20.99 oz. LOADED (~) 850 g / 29.98 oz. LENGTH 174 mm / 6.85 in. HEIGHT 127 mm / 5.00 in. MAG. CAPACITY Standard: 15 OPTIONAL 17 / 19 / 33 WIDTH 30 mm / 1.18 in. LINE OF SIGHT 153 mm / 6.02 in. BARREL LENGTH 102 mm / 4.02 in. I'd go with a G19 for the lighter weight, more comfortable grip, rounds in the mag and cost of ammo (equals more practice). Unless you are dead set on .45, I don't see a reason to go with a G30 over a G19. Out of the G30 and the G36, I'd go with the G30. More rounds the merrier, and the fact that it can take G21 mags seals the deal for me there. And if you can't conceal the G30 at all then there is a very slim chance you'll be able to conceal the G36 anyways... How they feel may be night and day, but concealability won't change very much between the two. |

I downsized from a G21 to a G23 for carry.
Same size as a G19 and same capasity as the G21 (13 rounds). If you insist sticking to 45acp (nothing wrong with that), then my vote would be for the G30. Higher capasity, takes the G21 mag, and it takes all the same aftermarket parts as the others too. The G36 stands alone when it comes to a few of the aftermarket goodies. Another thing is that you only get 6 in the mag. Heck, a revolver has 6 rounds. Kinda defeats the purpose of a semi-auto hand gun to only have 6 rounds. |
| I'm pretty sure the 30 has a double recoil spring that makes it very easy to shoot and very accurate. I carry a 30 for my everyday CW. As far as concealment I started dressing around the gun. Bought a bunch one size bigger than I normally wear front button shirts at the Goodwill 2nd hand store and Im good to go. Sometimes I carry my G 17 and the 30 is no harder to hide. I think the reliability, controlability and accuracy of the 30 makes it a better choice than the 36. HTH |

| I was faced with this decision too. After I looked at everything, the 30 won out because I have a 21 and i can use the 21 magazines in the 30. Also as a Glock Armorer, I keep a decent amount of spare parts around. The 36 takes a few parts that are only unique to the 36. In the end, I picked up the 30 and carry it daily. |

My point was that a G30 is every bit as concealable; not that the G36 isn't concealable... Sorry for the rhetorical tricks |

i voted G30 cause i have a G29 (same size) i ccw my 29 when we go 4wheeling in bear country very comfortably in a MTAC, however it isn't my EDC anymore i've moved to a G26, the G29/30 is a pretty heavy gun
edit, the big plus with the 30 is the ability to use 21 mags as backups |
