Hey guys.  I am in the middle of a build with my new Glock 17.  I bought a brand new G17 RTF 2, Trijicon MS03 mini red dot, and have the funds ready to go to send the slide off to have the machining done at One Source Tactical.  I love the Safariland 6380 ALS holster as a duty holster, however it will not work with a RDS on the glock.  Bladetech is in the middle of making a holster for the RDS glock and Safariland makes a few that can be modified to work.

This is a big hang up for me.  I have done some pretty decent training with the ALS and would hate to loose it to something that I would have to retrain myself on.  I have everything ready to go and plenty of ammo to begin training with my new RDS equipped pistol.

What would you guys do?

Thanks, something else I will end up spending money on.

That looks awesome.

I too would also like a red dot RDS on my glock 20sf. Have been using the Safariland 6004/6005 series holsters with my 6" barrelled glock 20 with regular sights for hunting. Adding a RDS would create some clearance problems for the locking hood on the Safariland. Trijicon might see the benefit of producing a slightly narrower sight for our Glock slides. For personal defense, I'll stick with iron sights. For hunting, the Trijicon RDS would be better at longer shooting distances. Guess I'll wait and see what developes. Might even give Trijicon a call.

If you get one of the newer Blackhawk Serpa holsters with the lower sides, it should work, and if it doesn't, Dremel it.  Otherwise, your spending a chunk o' change on something custom.

What's the full holster model number for a Safariland 6004 to fit a 6" Glock 20?

Thanks,

I'm running a 6" KKM Barrel on a factory G20sf slide. The barrel extends beyond the slide 1 1/2". The barrel does stick out below the holster but works fine. I switched to the single leg strap drop leg holster so it would ride higher on my hip, not flop around so much when on the move like the 6004 did.  Model # 6005-383-541-SP10

Leupold Deltapoint = lifetime warranty.  Trijicon MS03 = LIfetime waranty.  Leupold avail for .mil discount @ promotiove.com with your AKO and no slide modification required.

I appreciate the follow-up.  I misunderstood and thought you had a Safariland for a 6" long slide G20.  Safariland sucks at cataloging some of their items, so I hoped they snuck this offering in on me to go along with their models for the G17L/G24.

Thanks,

Thanks for pointing this one out.  I completely overlooked the promotive deals.

Here's proof that the Blackhawk Serpa holsters works with a red dot.  I use this holster with both the Blackhawk paddle or drop leg rig.  No modifications to the holster were necessary for my setup.

Can't be much longer before the Blade Tech one comes out and I've got a Blade Tech OWB paddle holster that is pretty high quality so they do good work.
