I've had my gen. 4 19 since January of this year and have about 600 rounds through it so far (not enough I know!). Anyway, I recently experienced my first (and only so far) FTE/stovepipe with it. While I'm aware that this could be attributed to limpwristing the shot, I also called Glock to see if they'd send me an "0 4" marked recoil spring assembly (mine is marked "0 3"). I was told that they don't have any in stock and that they're waiting to receive some from Austria but they don't have an ETA. They've got my info and will send one as soon as they get them. Anybody with more experience dealing with Glock know if I'm going to be waiting weeks or is it going to be months? Also, just out of curiosity, do newer gen. 4's come with the "0 4" recoil spring by default now? Lastly, what are my alternatives if FTE's become more common and I don't ever hear back from Glock? ETA that I know that there are also some gen. 4's with extractor issues and so the recoil spring may not make a difference. I guess if the frequency of FTE's increases, I'll mess with the extractor. |
