I'm new to the forum and would like to know is this model GTG??  I'm looking to purchase one by mid-week, so any intel would be appreciated. Thanks!

they are louder and don't do that much to reduce recoil.  many claim that the blast from the ports will blind you, burn you or maim you if you shoot from retention.  It seems that these claims are slightly overblown.  That said, I wouldn't buy another.

eta: after many rounds (read: hundreds) the front sight will get covered with powder fouling

Is a 19C GTG? Yes. Necessary? No.

I had a 31C and, with 357sig at least, the comps did help a lot.  Felt like a 9mm.  I never had issues with blinding or burning or any of that crap.  The flame is there and go so fast it doesn't have time to blind you, IMO. And any reputable defensive ammo with use more quality powder and there will be no flame. At least the Hydrashoks I used didn't.

Anyway, I digress. I sold it because of the price of 357sig, not because I didn't like it.

You can always buy the 19C and if you don't like it, just buy a standard 19 barrel.
