For every complaint, there are many more positive ones.
Also, many posters who are new to Glocks have no experience properly field stripping, cleaning and servicing them, let alone using the correct ammo instead of the underpowered cheap crap, or correctly diagnosing problems. In addition, there are more than a few posters who "heard it from a guy who knows a guy who didn't see it but swears by it" type of b.s. I have been buying, shooting and carrying handguns for over 30 years, and for solid dependability, accuracy, simplicity, carryability and the ease of end user 'smithing I have yet to own one that can beat a Glock in all those areas combined. Glocks are not the Holy Grail, but IMO about as close as it gets. |

It runs about $12 a box at my local Academy, and I picked up a bunch for range rounds and plinking. Pretty accurate too. I just got my Gen4 day before yesterday. Put 300 rounds through it yesterday, and another 300 rounds through it this morning. No problems whatsoever. Love it so far. I can say it's extremely accurate with the Winchester Ranger 127 gr.+P+ JHP and the Ranger NATO 124 gr. Hopefully, no problems will arise down the road, because I really like the way handles and feels. In fact, I went to buy a Gen3 and wasn't interested in the Gen4 at all, but after handling both went with Gen4...the place I bought mine from had them for the same price with the LE discount. Everybody has different opinions and preferences though...that's why there's not just one handgun in one caliber that we all shoot. |

I'm pretty sure I could shove a crayon in it and it would fire. I'll you guys sort out the gen 4 issues before I sport for one. |

Generally when people do not have a problem, they don't say anything. Yup. What's the old saying; People who have good dealings with a service or company, will tell 5 people about it. People who have bad dealings with a service or company, will tell 20 people about it. Or something like that, anyway. |

I have only owned my G22 Gen3 for less than 2 weeks, but I have put around 1000 rds thru it since I bought it. I have shot everything from Federals, Winchester (target/range loads), Blazer, Remington all either bought from Dick's or Walmart. No issues at all, it went bang every time. I actually just walked in from shooting this afternoon. I sent 200rds of winchester value pack (target/range) down range today. Was beginning to think I might be doing it wrong. |

The gun should be able to run any commercial ammo, from imported Russian stuff to fancy defensive rounds. |

[/quote] I agree, but most of the advice I have seen on Glock Talk has been to put 100-200 rds. of good quality 124/147 gr. self defense ammo through a new one then there should be no issues with the lighter/cheaper stuff. |

With the 03 spring it didn't even like +P Gold Dots. |

I have or had several glocks to include some of my primary range and carry guns currently. In none of the guns have I ever had problems with ammo-all factory ammo thast I can put in the mags ran-from win white box rem umc fed champion blazer you name it. I mention it above most people don't leave the gun stock they start messing with it lighter connectors strikers metal guide rods after market barrels etc then start having problems and blame the gun or ammo. It the goof ball replacing all the factory parts that's the problem.
I can say that the Glock corporate answer for everything is "try different ammo" -I know personally several LE armorers who had problems with agency issue guns and it's kind of funny- one agency will call and say they are having problrms using winchester ammo- then glock says we've heard of problems with that use remington. then another agency calls says we use remington -oh yes a problem try winchester etc. I agree a utility combat gun like a glock should not be ammo sensitive and if a gun you want to shoot alot to be proficient with will only shoot with premium ammo, that is a problem. To add to my above comments in all my current glocks I have not had any functional problems despite the fact I have NEVER in 10's of thousands of rounds ever replaced any internal parts period. Not even the ongoing "how often to replace my recoil spring debate" And since I am in NY all my mags are 20 year old nfml pre bans that have never had any parts replaced! |
