| Guy's I just ordered a Glock 26 yesterday. Can you guys tell me pros-cons of magazine extensions, and give me some recommendations please? Will I need them? I like the feel of the gun but am coming from full size auto and it is causing me to think about grip. |

I like the pearce the best, but learn to shoot it with the flush fit mags also. I have had the base plate of a pearce extension fall off after about two years of carrying it nearly everyday. I got out of my truck and noticed the baseplate and a bunch of cartridges laying on the seat. I've had two mags like that for my 27 since I bought it five years ago and I never had a problem with it before but that kind of put me off of them Get a 15rd (G19) or 17rd (G17) magazine to carry for a reload. The also make grip extensions for both of those mags that make a full grip when used with the 26, although I've never used one of them. |
| If you bought your new 26 for CCW then I would stick with the factory mags. If you add additional baseplates, you might as well just get a 19. I just recently picked up a 26 to complete my 9mm Glock trilogy and wanted something even smaller than my 19 for summer carry. The 26 is almost perfect the way it is and the only upgrade I would recommend is night sights. Enjoy your new toy! |

agreed with everyone else. i currently have an XD40SC as my main carry weapon, i keep the 9rd mag for carry and a 12 round full size with the sleeve for my reload. if i was going to carry a SC with grip extensions i would have just bought a full size to begin with. with a little practice you can fire with the small magazine just as well as a full size grip.
and if you do want +x baseplates, stick to the glock +2 baseplate. i hear the scherer and the other brands have a tendancy to fall off. the +2 baseplate doesnt add a whole lot of length to the SC and is still pretty concealable, and it will still be a little smaller than a compacts grip. make sure you fully test any magazine you add an extension to for your carry gun BEFORE you start carrying with it. sometimes they will have problems with the last couple rounds, and sometimes theres not enough spring tension to lock the slide back on the last round. better to find out at the range than a situation where it matters. |

Only thing I'll add is that if you get a +2 base plate, get a longer spring - the spring for a 10-round mag is shorter than what you'll need to reliably feed a 12 round mag.
To keep things simple, I'd just get some G19 mags. Carry with a factory 10 rounder and have a G19 15rounder as your reload. |

I recently bought my second 26 last week. The 26 is my main carry gun, so I figured a spare wasn't a bad idea (especially with my GSSF discount). In general, I don't care for the extensions I've tried. A lot of them pinch my pinkie finger, which is more of an annoyance than it is painful, and don't offer a very noticeable improvement in shooting and control.
I do, however, carry my 26 with a GAP floorplate, because it gives me a much better grip when I draw. It really helps since you can't get a full grip on the 26. I set mine up like this: * night sights (I prefer 2-dot sights, I find 3 dots to be too much for my eyes) * OEM 3.5lb connector * smooth-faced trigger (the serrated "target" trigger is hell on my finger after 200+ rounds) * Vickers extended mag release As someone else suggested, I carry a G19 mag (15 rounds) as a reload. |
| I really do appreciate all the responses wow! OK last question I promise. Is the supertuck too much holster for the 26/27? i am leaning towards either the Supertuck, the CTAC or minotaur spartan. Supertuck looks like a huge holster for though for the 26/27 size. |

It's comfy, sturdy (even with a wimpy belt), and conceals well. At this point I do not wish to buy any other holster. |

I was worried about the spring being to short also but I bought some factory Glock 26 mags with the +2 extention and pulled the spring out and it was the exact same length as the regular factory 26 mags. All 15 were like this and Glock uses the same length spring for the 2 different mags. Mine all feed fine. |

I carried my G26 for almost 9 years with a Glock factory +2 and I love it... I caryy 2 G-17 mags as reloads. I carry mine in a Fobus ankle holster and have had no problems. I know that a lot of people hate Fobus but I like mine. I am now in the process to going to a G-30.. Just my .02, Amos1909 |
