I shoot my own reloads out of my 26 without any issues at all.  My little 26 eats up everything I feed it.  Some here shoot lead out of their Glock OE barrels, I am not one of those people.  As of right now I only shoot jacketed rounds.

Why is it a "no no"?

I shoot a lot of plated (Berry's, Rainier, etc) with no problems out of my 19 and 26. No plain lead though-

you should be good as long as you don't shoot hundreds of lead bullets without a good thorough cleaning of the bore. you want to make sure you get the lead out.

Same here.  No problems so far with plated.

I read many times that I would need an undersize or bulge buster die.  I found that not to be true.  I use a standard Lee carbide 4 die set with the Factory Crimp die.  YMMV.

I load .40 which is supposed to be a bigger no-no than 9mm.  I've had some flattened primers but no ruptured cases or anything.

Follow safe reloading practices and you should be fine.

all new guns have a statement in the manual advising against shooting reloads.
keeps the lawyers happy!

All I ever shoot are my own reloads.
Berry Plated bullets is all I shoot out of my Sigs and Glocks.

I don't out of a 19 , but have gone through 6K in the 40's in the last year with NO issues what so ever and these were LEAD .

YOU CAN SHOOT LEAD IN YOUR GLOCKS !!!!!!!!!

I've shot thousands of reloads through Glocks using plated bullets - 9mm, .40, .45, & .357 Sig.  I still have all my Glocks and all my fingers.

Another myth. All I shoot are reloads in all my guns.

strictly a lawyer thing- agree with above posters my estimate is over 50k of ammo through glocks over the years many with lead reloads-no problems, even 40 cal. With lead use a hard cast bullet and scrub bore every 200 rounds or so and you'll be fine. Do not use the advice to shoot a jacketed bullet through a leaded bore to push the fouling out this causes increased pressure and could lead to a ka boom!
