Just curious how well Glocks stand up to saltwater. Obviously you have to oil em and wash em after your out.

I have a jet ski for the summer and take it out in the Chesapeke Bay and want to carry while im out, but what would I carry?

Im open to something new. I currently have a G23 and G21.

If Glocks arent ideal for brackish water what would you guys recomend?

(on a jetski it will most definately end up getting wet)

Mine is on my hip in the bay, whether I'm wade fishing (fully submerged) or on the boat. Of course I always rinse it well as soon as I can. I've even soaked it in a cooler when I was camping on the beach. No maritime cups needed. The holster's screws haven't fared as well though.

A guy ...Chuck Taylor I think, left his Glock in the Pacific Ocean for 6 months.

my thinking is that Glocks should hold up just as well as any other firearm placed into the type of environment you describe, if not, better... i wouldn't lose any sleep over it, just wipe it down when you get a chance.

The Glock is 99.9% saltwater corrosion resistant.
Glock, an Austrian firearms manufacturer, utilizes the Tenifer process to protect the slides of the pistols
they manufacture. The finish on a Glock is the third and final
hardening process.
It is 0.05 mm (0.0020 in) thick and produces a 64 Rockwell C hardness rating via a 500 °C (932 °F) nitride bath. The final matte, non-glare finish meets or exceeds stainless steel specifications, is 85% more corrosion resistant than a hard chrome finish, and is 99.9% salt-water corrosion resistant.
After the Tenifer process, a black Parkerized finish is applied and the slide is protected even if the finish were to wear off.

Our marine patrol (now fwc) issues them. Stainless steel with plastics is all win. And finish on the slide is tough as nails. Go for it.

Your ammo needs to be waterproof.  I've had ammo issues with my old Steyr M9 A1 after being submerged.  That was probably with Fiocchi or WWB.  Winchester Ranger I'm pretty sure is waterproof.

All metal parts on the Glock are carbon steel BTW.
