Well I thought I had decided to stay with a 45acp but what do you guys think of the 10mm? pros - cons I had a Glock 30 and a Glock 29 at the same time once. The Glock 30 ran better (even after the G29 was sent back to the factory for extraction issues) I shoot better with the G30 than just about any other pistol I have ever owned..Most of what I liked about the G29 was running some really zippy ammo through it (doubletap etc) but for a CCW I really like my G30 |

10mm is great if you reload. It is quickly becoming my favorite round. The only glock I have is a 20. +1 . . . . +1 . . . . +1 I have no desire to own a different Glock. If I were to buy another .45, it would probable be an M&P. Too bad. I just sold mine to a guy in Texas. |

Pros - it's a 10mm Cons - it's a 10mm...expensive to feed. And where are you finding it for that? I can't even find 45 ACP for that around here. 10mm is usually more like $26.95. I think AIM has some 10mm prvi at or around that price. It's horribly underpowered from what I've been able to find out about it. |

I've been looking at that Privi too.......cheap-ish plinking and reloadable brass. I tend to load fairly warm, and I'm curious how well the Privi brass will hold up. I'm going to keep using my Starline brass until I hear some more reviews. |

From their web site...180 gr jhp @ 340 m/s....I think that comes out to 1080 fps. A warm 40 S&W, but not a real 10mm. 25.4 mm per inch => 3.28 ft per meter => 1115 fps

Ok, someone help me out here. Is that supposed to look like a mushroom cloud? Or is that wound channel profile accurate? ETA: Quoted: I really like my new G20. Also I recently bought two cases of 10mm Remington UMC 180 grain in the Atlanta area for $150/per case. You waited a whole year to make your first post, and that's it? Hey, whatever works for you buddy! Welcome to the site!

If the 10mm was as available as the .45ACP, then it's a no-brainer that the 10mm would dominate. The main issue is ammo price and availability.
I love 10mm glocks, and hope that the recent increase in popularity of 10mm continues so that ammo becomes more popular and less expensive. (...and that more full-power ammo is made available. If I want to shoot .40S&W, then I'll shoot .40S&W.) |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Neat thing about reloading is that after you've acquired the brass, 10mm is the same price as 40 to reload. Except that 10mm takes twice the powder ![]() Not twice but a bit more, so ya got me. 10mm will cost about 1¢ more for powder than your 40s&w. As I have both, I really think the 50¢ per box cost increase is peanuts but, hey, if you can't afford to play................................................ G20L on the left and G24 on the right http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/Coloradoglocker/DSCN0079.jpg Last .40 I loaded, and I don't load much .40 since FMJ is cheap enough to not be worth the time, was 4.6 grains, and my usual 10mm load is 10 grains of Blue Dot. But I'm just giving you hell, I don't even pay attention to the cost of reloading bits since there's pretty much zero chance it'll cost more than the factory ammo (Double Tap) I carry. Mine: ![]() |

Glock 20 cheapener: LWD .40 barrel. I have one, it runs 100% with no spring change, and costs way less to shoot. Still plenty of recoil, strangely enough. So my G24 6" LWD barrel can be swapped into a G20 w/o any mods at all? Not that I would ever need to do it, but if it's true that's kind of cool.

LWD makes a G20 .40 conversion barrel. |

When I shoot .40 from my G20 it's like shooting a .22lr conversion it's so soft. I've got the G20, 21, 29,and 36. If I have to get rid of one caliber it'd be the .45acp, but that would be a hard choice. I LOVE the 10mm round, it's hugely versatile. |

Quoted: Quoted: I have a 20. Am I correct that the 20 and 21 share the exact same frame? I shoot a lot of 45(1911) and I need a new frame for my 20. Will the two interchange? THanks are there any issues with shooting the 10mm on a polymer frame, durability wise? Yes, the Glock frame actually holds up much better under prolonged use of hot 10mm ammo than a rigid, steel framed pistol such as a 1911 based 10mm. That's because of the frame's ability to flex which distributes the forces throughout it. |

Maybe when I converted seconds to chrons.
