| I have a Glock 17 that was my first handgun. Love the gun, use it for GSSF and IPSC shooting. Won a 19 at a GSSF match that is my current CCW handgun. I was thinking of using my GSSF coupon to get a 26 to compliment my 9mm Glocks. After putting a ton of rounds through a G27 and a 36 yesterday I think the 36 is one of my new favorite Glocks. Question is should I get a 26 to have smaller CCW piece and complete the 9mm trilogy or jump ship and get a 36 for range/carry use. I think the 36 will fit in my Crossbreed Supertuck with maybe a little wobble. |

the 36 is def easier to carry. I would say it is even easier to carry than a 26. I have all of these and have carried them all the 36 is by far the easiest. That said I would get the 26 in you case because you already have all 9mm....
The 36 is not really any easier to carry than the 19, I'd get the 26. but the 36 is bad azz |

G26 all the way across the sky. It is easier to conceal than a 36 for sure.
Plus you can use both your 17 and 19 mags as back-ups, and then you'll have almost the complete Glock 9mm line-up (minus the 34 and or course the 17L. Oh, and the unobtainable 18 :) I have large hands, and when I went to purchase a 36, I found the 30 fit better in my hands. However, it was a fat pig for IWB. I loved it, and I do miss it quite a bit. The 26 should fit perfect in your ST, as long as they work similar to the MTAC Slide versions (which will hold any 9/mm/.40/.357 glock model). My only pro for going for the 36 is this small quote my buddy always says "go .45acp, cuz shooting twice is just silly"
Good luck, either way you can't go wrong. |

I think my 36 is easier to conceal than my 26 really... identical feel to me I've read that they are very similar in size to a 19/23/32, which are very easy to conceal (my main carry is a 23C). I've had most all of the Glock models at one time or another, accept the 36. Like i said, it didn't fit my hands as well as the 30. My 27 is a bit easier to conceal than my 23, mainly because of the grip length only. I've actually been thinking about selling/trading the 27for a 23, then get a grip chop to fit 27 mags. I like the longer slide of the 23 :) |

I'd go 26 if you don't already have 45 ammo laying around.
I started carrying a Kimber Ultra CDP II but got tired of beating up that gun so I got a G23 but I sit all day and it got uncomfortable so I bought a G27 which carries much easier for me in a Milt Sparks VM II. My new bride then decided she wanted to start shooting and she picked out an XD9. In order to only load for as few calibers as possible I got a 19/26 and have been carrying the 26 for about a year now. I really like it and carry a G19 spare mag. I have come to realize simplicity is awesome and only having to have 1 caliber around would be great. Right now I have .380, 9mm, 40, and 45. I hope to sell the G23/G27 so I can get rid of one caliber and then I may sell my ammo/component stash for .45 and be down to 2 calibers. I would be VERY happy doing that. |

You and I did the exact opposite. I sold my 17/19 RTF2/26 as we went all .40s&w for handguns (I do however plan on getting either a 20 or 21 as well as a six shooter at some point). When you go to sell that 23, shoot me an IM with your asking price :) My apologies to the OP for the small thread jack Looks like the consensus is get the 26 if you want to keep calibers consolidated, or get the 36 if you want one nasty little package. |

I haven't shot any but I say go for variety get the 36 You already got a carry piece so have some get something different what would you call a 36? ![]() Go with 36 you already have your 9s meant variety in calibers. I love my 30 |

That was kind of my original plan. I don't like the mag extensions on the 26/27. I was dead set on getting a 26 until I shot the 36 over the weekend. I was getting extremely pissed at my 1911 (extractor issues) and my father in law offered me his new 36. I loved shooting the .45 in a compact Glock. The 21 is one of my favorite Glocks, but it's too big for CCW. All you have to do is shoot some steel pepper poppers with a 45 compared to the 9mm and see which one is the better stopper. 9mm rings the steel, then the target falls. The 45 smacks it down with authority. I think the recoil on the 36 was about on par with my 19 and a lot less than the 27 that i was also shooting. |
| Question is can you effectively get your hands around a 26? I have small hands and I never liked the purchase I got on the 26 even though I CCW a J-Frame Smith 36 with tiny hogue grips regularly. I can tell you that I've sold alot of guns in my day and the one I wish I had back was the 36. Any holsters for your 19 will work with the 36 and quite frankly I feel the 36 is more inherently accurate than my G-19, which is dead accurate. |
| I have huge hands and can easily palm a basketball. That's why I have a 17. The 19 is kind of a tight fit. Oddly, I don't mind the stubby grip on the 26/27. I just rest my pinky under the mag. The 36 was just plain fun to shoot. Compared to the 27 it was a marshmello. The 27 has way more blast and flip with full power duty ammo. The 45 is a gentle push straight back. |

I have had both and sold the 36.
It boiled down to which one I could shoot the most accurately and quickly. The 36 just never clicked in my brain and I can make the 26 do what I want without any problems. I used to be hung up on the whole 9mm vs 45 thing and got over it. So, take them both to the range. Carry the gun that you can reliably use to put rounds in the blackest black part of the eye. It really doesn't matter what caliber. |
