Getting ready to pick up a subcompact. I have a 26 that the wife has "adopted" I love the gun perfect for CC. So tomorrow I am going to the local fun shop to get another for me....
then I got to thinking... hmmm, what about a 27? OR a 36? this will be my primary carry. Should I just go for the gusto and get a .45? I would be throwing thousands of rounds down range just enough for proficiency... so ammo cost is not my concern. How much is this .45 gonna kick on a subcompact platform? |

The 36 is a sweet shooter. I like it better than the 27. The 27 with full power duty loads is kind of snappy. The .45 is more of a straight push. not the first person I've heard say that..... 26 make sense for round $$$$ but the .45 is all about knockout power (yes with a well placed shot) |

I know it's not on your list but I would I vote G-30. Little bigger but better capacity. Love mine and not bad for a carry piece. On the recoil, my dad has a 27 and my 30 kicks less. bigger... just wider right? Same as a 26? The 36 is slimline right? 30 is about the same size as a 19 just wider. And heavier with the extra ammo weight. I carry it with the 10 round mag and keep a few 13 rounders in the truck console. Edit. 36 is slim line 6 rounds. 30 is the larger cap with either 9 round flush or 10 round extension mags. With the extensions they fit my hand perfectly. You don't really see the 9 rounders much. They also take G-21 mags/ |
| I found the 27 snappy, but the 36 is a little softer shooting as mentioned and is the same size as a G19 and will fit in most G19 holsters. However the G36/30 are not subcompact IMO. Personally I would buy another G26 since the wife has one and you can carry G19 mags as spares. |
| I also agree with going with the 30 as you kinda still have access to the 26. I just went the other direction have a 30 and picked up a 19. 30 is a great gun IMHO. For me it is very comfortable in my hands and easy to conceal. A bit heavy for ankle carry tho. As for the round both are very good and very effective with proper load and shot placement. I also don't know if having a rail is a huge deal to you or not. I do see a 26 in my future also. |

The 36 was the first Glock I owned. Due to the cost and lack of local availability of .45 ammo during the election ammo crisis, lack of magazine compatability with other pistols, and my currently limited budget for shooting, I traded the 36 for a 27.
Haven't looked back ether. Also, consider this: after trading into the 27 it was really nice to have the option of picking up some ammo if I needed it while all the other calibers were sold out. Seems like there aren't a lot of .40 shooters in this area besides folks who have their ammo issued, which is strange given the small price difference between it and 9mm. I do put away ammo as I can afford to do so, but that was an experience I had not counted on.

well th e26 is nice... but I can't get the .45 thoughts out my head.... so off to the funshop to get a 36 for EDC One of my customers is a big fan of .40 and hicap stuff in general, but carries a 36 because it is the gun he consistently scores higher with with is quals. He is so enamored with it he bought a second one. |
| You are going to love the 36. It's slightly smaller than a 19/23, but a little larger than the 26/27. They are really smooth shooting little .45's and quite accurate. I'm kind of torn for another CCW Glock just to use up my GSSF certificate and can't decide between a 26 and a 36. My father in law has the 36 and I love it (not to mention someday it will be mine anyway), but I like the 26 just for something a touch smaller than my usual 19 when the shorter grip would help. |
got an extend slide release, vickers mag releas and 2 +0 pearce mag extensions. OTD $460
