Do you see any problems with using the same leather backing for two different carry pieces (glock 19 and sig p6)?  I would be using the proper body for each pistol.
Is this a good idea, or should I just suck it up and save my pennies for another whole holster?

i have 3 MTAC holsters and 4 bodies. If i coulc go back i would have ordered a whole new holster instead of just the body.

If you're going to be switching a lot, you should save your pennies and buy two.

The leather back does start to "mold" itself to the particular pistol that is carried in it. This is not to say that it would not work to switch bodies. But, body switching isn't the fastest thing in the world, and I personally wouldn't want to have to do it everytime I switched the pistol I was carrying.

How often are you really going to switch back and forth between the 19 and the P6? Those are two pretty different pistol platforms to be switching between at a whim, just my opinion of course.

I would only be switching once or twice a year at most.  I guess I don't really have a good reason why I should carry the P6.  It just bugs me that i don't have a good holster for it.
The fact that the leather is getting molded to my glock is what prompted me to ask this.

If your going to only switch once or twice a year I would not buy a second. I switch bodies between an HKUSPC and G19. Even though I started carrying with the HK first and it molded to it I have been carrying my G19 for 4 months now without one issue. Unless you have money to waste or are going to switch more frequently I don't see a point.

I'm kind of in the same situation as you. My MTAC is for my M&P9c but I want to get a second body for my XD9 service. I doubt I'll carry my XD but it's nice to have the ability to if I ever wanted to. More often than not, I'd only carry my XD OWB at the range.

The only advantage I have to carry my XD as opposed to my M&P is 4 extra rounds. In your case it's the opposite, you'd be sacrificing rounds for concealability. Out of curiosity, why would you switch if you can carry the G19 the majority of the year?

a major selling point for the MTAC is the ability to swap it out......

I actually wouldn't  call the P6 any more concealable than the glock.  They are very close in length, height, and even width.  So, in fact, there is no good reason for me to carry the sig versus the glock.  I guess this is why I'm having trouble justifying a new holster for the sig, when in reality I won't ever be carrying it unless something happened to my glock.

I carried an XD9 is an M-TAC for about 7 months.  Been carrying a G22 in the same backing with a new body now for about 3 weeks.  I haven't noticed any real issues.

Yes it does seem that the leather did mold to the shape of my XD, but I noticed this on visual inspection ONLY, can't see a difference in fit/form/function.  I'm sure now that my g22 is my daily carry, the leather will mold again to the g22.

My XD9 is now my backup carry for in case my g22 goes down for any reason, this is why I bought the body only, and at $38 vs. $80, it was a no brainer.

Oh, OK. Never having handled a P6, I just guessed that the P6 would be a slimmer gun being a single stack. Anyway, that being the case, I guess it couldn't hurt to have a spare body for the P6 just in case you ever find a need to carry it.

Thanks for posting this thread because it got me looking into getting a P6 again and I found one for only $370 w 2 mags.

Jack of all trades is a master of none.

If you're planning on carrying the Sig one day here and one day there, it would be a PITA to me. If you really just want it in case something happened to your Glock, just get a body.
