I'm having difficulty adjusting my Ctac for where I like it. The rear clip is set for the second highest hole and I like it there but I cannot decide where to put the front one.

What holes are your CTACs adjusted to?

(I have the standard 5 hole clips)

When I had mine I found it comfortable at #3 in the back and #2 up front, Glock 23 3 years of carry

My rear clip is on the second highest. My front clip is on the second lowest.

You should not take our settings for your own though. The angle from which you draw from your holster, based on your body shape, may be different from ours. You need to try the various degrees of cant available with the different setting and find the one that places the weapon at the perfect grip/draw angle for you with your draw stroke.

Generally I've found that having my rear at the second highest and front at the lowest works. I was just curious that I had almost maxed out the adjustments. If it's not super canted and I barely bend over you can see the butt of the gun.

That's what they look like when you actually carry them everyday for years, they pick up some wear and modifications for perfect personal fit.

Sweat. 98 degrees and high humidity makes a lot of sweat, I think the flow of sweat brings with it some of the acid(acid mantle) that is on the skin. I have a hell of a time fighting rust on my Glock.

Your sweat rusts a Glock? Are you the devil?

mine never really seemed right until I swapped the leather tabs...

These tabs have been replaced once...I just cut new ones out of black leather. I use some of the wifes clear nail polish on the backs of the hardware for rust prevention...I carry mine daily.

Nice mod. That's a great idea.

I'm going to add some rust proofing to my metal hardwares.

It finally feels kinda right at these adjustments as long as I stand. But if i sit or lay down on a couch it's a bit uncomfortable. Do you guys have issues sitting or laying down? I do have a 32" waist so maybe that's a problem.

yeah...I dont have the same rust issues....but helps to lock the hardware so it doesnt loosen as well....been carrying this one for about 5 years...last one was a G23 in the same set up...same mod. I carried that one for about 10 years until I swapped to the G30 for EDC.

I guess I am about to de-rail this thread. My aplogies...

Comp-tac tactical has been around that long? I didn't realize that! We have to have pictures of your hold Comp-tac holster if you still have it.

The one in my picture I bought around 03'- 04' IIRC.  I think they have been around since early 2000 or so.

In 2001 I started Comp-Tac with the intention of designing holsters
of the highest quality for defensive and competition shooting. I
started off with the Locking Paddle and over the years have designed
over 30 products with 92,000 possible variations to accommodate your
lifestyle and needs.

Comp-Tac has grown from a one
man shop eight years ago to a business with dozens of employees. What
started in my garage has grown into a drafting room, production line,
customer service department, shipping department, and leather shop.

Thanks to the great support of our customers and through their input we
continue to grow and refine our product line.

Whether you are competing for fun  or in the fight for your life, no company offers more holsters dedicated to  your victory.

I guess my memory aint that great is it....I know I carried the G23 for about 10 years...but now that I think of it..I carried in a Sidearmor for quite awhile before switching to the CTAC due to the Sidearmor breaking....over and over. It must be true, the mind is the 1st thing to go.

This +1.  The tab reversal worked best for me too.  It allows for more "cant" and a deeper seating of the holster in the beltline.  this may not be as crutial w/the newer style clips..
