Hello

Do any of you carry a 1911 in crossdraw mode?

If so what kind of holster set up do you use? hey if you have a web page for your set up include thanks.

On the other hand if you are opposed to cross draw tell my why?

In other word some pro and cons would be nice!

   Thanks all

Why not?

Mainly the tendency to sweep yourself.  Second, if it's a fullsize, the seated position????

Pros-
It's comfortable while seated such as when driving.

Cons-
It's slow to draw, compared to strong side hip carry.
If it is angled enough for comfort when seated, then it pretty much points at anyone to your support side.
It's harder to conceal and tends to allow disarms and or blocking of your draw when fighting in close.

IMHO, the Cons outweigh the Pros.

I use the crossbreed supertuck. since the cant is adjustible you can put it on either side.
I am actually a bit weird. I orded a left handed and wear it on my right side and draw with my right hand.

But I put it so I could draw left handed if necessary. Full size 1911.
about 2- 3 oclock with a rear ward cant

I get cussed at a lot and told I am an idiot, but it works.

I can't quick draw with it, but if I need that, then I wasn't aware enough of my suroundings.

As for the strong side weak side argument on not being able to protect the gun with the week hand, that isn't really a good argument against it either imo.

Cons
Slow to draw, compared to regular draw

speeping yourself

Don't work well for fat people like myself

Personally I don't have any problem being seated with a gun for long periods of time

Indeed, plus the fact that there is no true "speed rock" with crossdraw;  at close-to-contact distances, as you attempt to draw your drawing arm can be "trapped" against you by an attacker.............whereas with strong-side carry, you can more effectively block the attackers impetus with the non-dominant hand, while drawing and firing from a retention position with the shooting hand, i.e. "speed rock".

And often times crossdraw will be less concealable..............to make it more concealable, it's put farther back on the off-side hip, which will only increase your draw time and everything else.

I've tried it, just for the hell of it, and never seen any advantage to it, while seeing many disadvantages to it.

Only con I see is that it doesn't conceal well. I've been carrying AIWB for over 4 years now and find it conceals better than any other position, protects better against gun grabs and is faster to access. Unless you have a commander length 1911 it probably won't work though.
