| Just wondering if anyone carries while bicycling (Road or mountain) and how? Thanks |
| I cant carry in my home state, but when Im on the bike, I bring along a small canvas surplus bag with me to put an extra bottle of water, a small towel, energy bars, and other small supplies...a CCW would easily fit into the bag. I either sling it over my back or sometimes use the sling to attach it to the handle bars. |

| Funny you should ask. I asked over on a bike forum months ago and very few carried, the others were anti-gun. Never saw much on this forum either. I ride a road bike, lycra gear and all. I'm a also a cop and even if I wasn't I'd still want to carry while riding. I ride in a very nice area, but you never know. I ride on roads where I may only see 5 cars in a 2 hour ride. I wear a belly band that carries a S&W M&P 340. It weighs 1lb loaded. It's underneath my riding jersey and my riding partner who is also a cop, did not notice it the first few times I rode with it until I showed him. It's invisible to the other liberal roadies that I occasionally ride with and it's comfortable so far. 100+ degree heat has arrived here and I have not been riding with it in this heat yet. My other idea was to put the snubby in a pocket holster or the 5.11 backup holster and put it in one of the rear pockets on my jersey. |

Thanks for the link. Some great ideas in that thread......Right now I carry my 340PD in my Camelback. It is so light, that you don't even know you are carrying it at all. But to get to it, I have to remove my pack. I am now thinking of looking at the Maxpedition Remora. I would try and carry it with the pouch in the front, kind of like a "Tanker rig". That way it would be secure, but more readily accessible...... |

on my road bike I carry a Ruger LCP in my rear center jersey pocket (with Desantis Nemesis pocket holster). It actually rides well there and keeps my plumbers crack hidden. It's only 380 but it's better than throwing a water bottle at someone!
On my mountain bike I keep a SW M&P340 .357mag in my camelback. Neither of these are quick draw, but I can have it out in a few seconds if needed. |
| I've always wondered about carrying while on a bike. I bike a lot, and sometimes it would be nice to have "just in case". When I commute, I use a Chrome messenger bad which I have attached an ASP to. That has had some great results. I've had multiple Taxis in downtown denver start hugging my back tire, and the moment I flick that out, they back waaay off. On the road, I probably wouldn't carry, but up in the mountains, I might start putting the G19 in my camel back. There are a ton of animals out here that have been getting a little more aggressive for some reason.....must be the economy. |

Whats an ASP? I think its a snake.... asp (āsp) n. Any of several venomous snakes of Africa, Asia, and Europe, such as the small cobra (Naja haje) or the horned viper (Cerastes cornutus).
